Howdy, Stranger!

It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!

will these type of these new mmo's exist??

currently in the MMO market as I reconize, there is nothing but tons and tons of mideval point/click, dice rolling, and level grinding mmos out there. there are some sci-fi on-the-foot FPS games out there but those seem overrated as well. theres also EVE online which this game is sort of cool however, the point and click and grinding aspects did not appeal to me.

i don't think anyone of you guys have heard of these type of mmo that I am about to describe but here it is.

the 3D MMO I am looking for is, either:

* any type of sci-fi games where you do the usual common stuff on planets as a person alone, and then the space flight travel aspects to it where you can only fly one ship at a time and in 1st person view, but can own many ships at various bases/planets. if you wanna go into space, goto the station you parked your ship at, and then you launch your ship. you should also beable to walk around in space stations as well.

i would be ok if there was either seamless planetary flight or not.

* or just the open-ended space trading game with classic wing commander or space flight style aspects as the main gameplay to be focused on. sort of like the classic space trading game where you make money to get a new ship or weapon upgrades. something like what Elite series games has done in the past.

what I don't want to see is no leveling, no grinding, no dice rolling combat.

as for space flight aspect to any sci-fi game, i want to see more of the the in-the-cockpit direct control for your ship, then people flying capital ships. but it would be somewhat cool to walk around in big ships. but capital ships should not be efficent solitary combat ships if flown by one player.

space flight again, the ships does not need to have a joystick driven control to it as long as it still has twitch based controls. you can make it wither freelancer style(where one mouse button steers the ship, the other mouse button fires and the guns can point to a mouse cursor or not, controls mouse only), or it can be guns face strait only and be controled by a mouse or joystick.

as for making an mmo presistant, I do not want to see a bunch of npc ships/people under one player's control because that woulden't make any sense from a PvP stand point of view. if npc does all the job for you, whats the point of playing?

instead, players can own structures like satalites, stations, anything that doesn't move. and then place powerful turrets on them so they can shoot at either enemies or people who attack the structures. but it comes with a responsibility, you must do some sort of simple maintenance in order to keep a non-station like structure alive or it will be no longer operational(turn off).

as for the universe size I would not recommend realistic distances or unlimited amount of star systems in a space game so the universe and space can be kept alive with players and from a PvP point of view.

there are a few mmo's that exists that has some elements I mentioned above so don't list them:

* SWG - i don't play extremely popular franchises. need something more original.

* Jumpgate - this game used to hold me for a while until the expansion pack disaster, and the GM mismanagement.

* Vendetta - still incomplete, I don't know if the flight engine will change where there is no need to afterburn to get from one spot to another.

ok anyways, I just keep dreaming.

edit: stupid editor: i edited very little and it turned my post into a giant paragraph.

i understand how the gaming industry goes.

back in the late 90's and early 00's everyone ditched the rest of the other game genres while RPG, RTS, and FPS became overrated these days and thats how the classic space simulators collapsed.
