I would either go to the forums here and ask or find a fan site and they will have the information your looking for.
Have you ever played NeverWinter Nights online? if you have its the same with Ragnarok but the only probelm is people can kick you off servers which i personally really hate but i guess thats the price you pay for playing on pvi's servers, meh its better than paying $15 £10 every month to play on an offical server i guess, but look att BF1942 they have offical servers and they are free and they are not that bad but they get cramed alot of the time :-(
Private servers are servers owned by the general public so they are not set up by any company they are set up by people like you. But the probelm it they can reserve the right to kick you off their server at anytime, but you'll find alot of the good servers will be password protected to keep out cheaters and hackers. If i was you and you wanted to play Ragnarok Online on a good server i would find someone who owns a decent password protected server and get pally with him, if he/she has a clan or guild join it thats a good way of getting on a good server.
BTW NeverWinter Nights is better

NWN better than Ragnarok Online? Hmm... I guess I like my Hound Archon better than some generic looking knight. Anyway, you also have to remember that this is about mmorpgs, which NWN is not due to the 64 person to a server limit... although it might be more... I haven't played for a bit and still haven't installed Hordes of the Underdark expansion... in fact, I'll do that later today.
In other news, we needs ta update that list or someting...
EDIT: Oh yeah, overall gameplay NWN might be better, but in music Ragnarok Online makes NWN into something you'd wipe off your shoe...

Thats a fresh open source mmorpg.
Full server source,editor, etc. Grafik is all public domain
at the moment because they still working on technical parts.
But its full playable and really fun - hope they will add some
modern client soon but team say its not hard - client is only
20% of the project work or so.

It's a Graal 1.39 server, free unlike the current graal. Has 4 old PWs (classic, enigma, elven lands, and valkoria... nostalgia! hehe).
But then my session on the forums timed out.
This has happened to be lots of times also. Is there a way to prevent this?
I tried finding a link to extend the time. Or to turn off the time limit - but I still can't find one.
It gets annoying when one is responding to a long post and trying to spell right.

Actually Daimonin doesn't look that bad, it's fairly well made for being free, fully editable, resembles Astonia III, just lesser graphics, I'll try it sometime.
By the way guys, someone should updated the free MMORPG list since many of those games ain't free anymore or ain't available (like Dragon Raga International Server), there's tons of free MMORPG on sourceforge.

great graphics(fully 3d), totally free( or so they say its going to be), everything a good game needs to be, and its coming out in mid 2004 folks! dont miss it!!
