I'm sure the insulators went bad and the voltage jumped to ground, or too small of wires for too big as load, since its a sub station it probably took a while to trip the fuses on it.

If you go flying back through time and you see somebody else flying forward into the future, it's probably best to avoid eye contact.

    They definitely added it digitally, or edited it somehow.

    As a soon to be computer/electrical engineering major, I can tell you positively that electricity doesn't do that on its own.  It looks for and follows that path of least resistance.

    It does look awesome, but it's definitely not real.

    Too much power split the lines. Much like Murt's PSU when his GPU is overclocked...
