What game would you compare Dark Age of Camelot to? The games that I've played are WoW, City of Heroes, SWG, Guild Wars, and Lineage II. You do not have to choose from this list. Are the graphics good?
Thanks

The really interesting part though is the rvr. You get battlegrounds as you level, not like wow's tiny battle areas, these are large zones with keeps, siege equipment, potential for large armies...
and then there's the frontiers themselves, a huge zone with 3 large 'islands', one for each realm, with keeps scattered over them. There's also a smaller island in the centre with no keeps, for skirmishes.
Each realm has 2 relic keeps on their land, you have to take certain keeps from the enemy to open the gates to their relic gate. capture a relic and stash it in one of your keeps, and long as you have your own relic too, you get a nice bonus for your whole realm.
there's a lot more to it, but that sums it up quite well i think

There are also epic quests every 5 levels which overall involves stopping a big threat against your realm and you get nice reward for doing the quest and at the end of the whole chain(lvl45 if I remember correctly) you get epic armor set.
With Darkness Rising comes champion weapons which can be acquired by doing the quest chain that starts from lvl30 and involves stopping a rebellion against your realm.
Best exp comes from task dungeons though. They are kind of dull to do(kill 10 of those in the task dungeon to north or clear the whole cave or kill this named mob) but is the fastest way to level.
Heres a couple types
Master Levels- They go from 1-10 and each have 10 steps, these steps are usually very interesting and in general result in you getting an item to kill a boss thats at step #10, example of master level 1, you have to kill a fish called a cetus and need a mirror, and (sorry, can't remember) 2 other objects, and you use those to kill the Cetus, they help (alot). And these stretch all over each continent, (I mean theres 10). They take awhile to complete, but at the end of each one you are awarded a very powerful Spell, or chant.
DR Quests- These help provide a little background and story to DAoC, they combine whats happened in the past and future to form some fun quests that in the end... Get you your very own classes champion weapon! This weapon is usually the best you can find for your class and is not tradeable. There's also tons of variety to the quests that you perform here as well. For example one quest (for hibernia, idk about the other realms) you infiltrate a rouge anti-goverment base and have to track down people and get information from them regarding attacks and plans. To do this you have to wear their attire and perform some tasks for people in order to be accepted.
Honestly, I have yet to find quests that are "unique." To me they are all just dressing up the same types of quests. I can try to describe some of the DAOC quests
1. Take this letter and deliever to to a person
2. I need X number of items, go kill Y until you have what I need.
3. Take this map and necklace and go investigate why the spirit is haunting this place. The map leads you to the spot. The neclace allows you to talk to the spirit. You then make a deal with the spirit to free him by killing the person who killed him. You go kill that person and return to the spirit. The spirit is now free.
You have Darkness Rising. Those add is an awsome story based quest that strethces from I think level 30-50. It is about an uprising against your king. These quests involve multiple steps. Many parts you can so solo, but a few parts you will need a group. These quest feel more like the ones you would get from a high quality RPG than from your average mmorpg.
Then there is ToA. I guess you can say those are quests. There is a set of "trials" you need to go through to get master levels. These involving doing all sorts of things from solo combat in an arena, to large raids to clear a dungeon. The dungeon involves figuring things out, but since you are on a Raid the leader already knows what to do so you just follow directions.
the movement and fighting plays like WoW
however theres more strategy in skills not so much button mashing
Its got the freedom of SWG pre NGE with player housing, huge guild pvp, tradeskills that matter, and player owned establishments.
CoH and Guild Wars are not going to be able to be compared to this very well.
But i played all the games your talking about and i say this is the greatest game ive played yet,
WoW is the closest but really its no where close.
