Lineage 2 & Guild Wars got snubbed by Gamespy's 40 most wanted my a**.

If you check the list of the games they've listed as most wanted, you will see what I'm coming to.

Let alone Lineage 2, Guild Wars isn't even in the list either.

Something smells really bad in all this....

I wonder what would that be?

and they've put up River City Ransom Ex at #31 before City of heroes #36 and even Ultima X #40

Whoever wrote that stupid number theory and call it a bonanza feature article of the day or week gonna piss off a lot of players.

This kind of "feature ranking-wh*re-fest" really turns me off on these sites.

Gamespot is all about money... if I paid them $100,000 they would say my text based game was number 1!

I don't like Gamespot... they have been over ran by "jackets".

I thing Gamespot is trying to be unbias. They earn money from subscribers and banners and very often they slag off games really bad. Some of those games definetly have enough money to buy review on gamespot but instead they are being slammed.

Guild Wars is not that very anticipated title, Lineage 2 is seen by many of my friends as a game for far east market with sucky manga graphics.

Hey its my opinion about those games you may not agree but I'm entitled to have one.

And besides, like it or not, people do try to "win" massively multiplayer RPGs. The rules of engagement are something like this:
    * If there is a status bar, make it grow bigger
    * If there is a number, make it higher
    * If it moves, either get a mission from it or kill it

but not as baddly as WoW...

Atleast WoW has that whole Warcraft thing going for it, which has a huge following of it's own. Plus, I can say for a fact that WoW world map is so full of detail that even the desert doesn't look bland.

Lineage 2 has only the hype.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure that the game will do well in Korea, where the first game was popular, but I doubt that it will sell that well in NA and EU.

What, exactly, does Gamespot have to do with this post?

It was Gamespy that wrote the article referenced here.

Hmmm.. two more swords-and-sorcery MMOGs being thrown into the current deluge of that crap. Bravo to Gamespy for not putting 'em in, even if it is a pretty obvious bit of corporate ho-baggin'.

ive seen the list and in all fairness half of them were console games, the other half were highly anticipated games by the mainstream of gamers (i.e medal of honor, HL 2, unreal tournament 2004, etc etc) leaving out the games like guild wars and lineage 2 with their limited "audience" and fans.

Hahahaha. Lineage 2 doesnt have a limited audience, lineage 1 had about 2 million subscribers at once. And somone mentioned it wouldnt do well in other countries....well, if they get as many subscribers as the first one, I dont think they'll care.

Yeah but you don't pay HL2 subscription fee every months. As matter of fact there is no such thing as subscription fee for HL2. You pay for HL2 once and that's it.

It is known that Lineage 1 made more money than 3 top titles that EA has ever produced.

    1. We're comparing to other MMRPG's

    2. As somone already said, a subscription price....I mean thats 20 million dollars a month...Or well, wait, no, it'd be more then that, probably about 35 million, they're prices i think range 15-20$ per month.

I'm kind of puzzled by the phrase....

    Can you clarify on that?
