In the last 1.5 years EQ has lost more then 60% of its players. over 350k people gone.

SWG has lost about 50% of its players in the last 6 months.about 150k people

EQ2 has lost about 50% of its players in 1.5 years. about 120k people

Planetside went from 55k people to less then 25k players.

EQ online adventures had the best 2 years only losing about 40% of its players. about 20k players.

Their disregaurd for its players has cost alot of people their jobs. And i gotta say im kinda glad. To bad its never the big wigs making the disions getting fired its always the little guys. Which is why SOE coutinues to die.

Factor in the station accounts that only play one or two games, because you know they count them for all the games, and you will find the numbers of people playing even less.

mmogchart is NOT counting every Station Access pass member to EVERY SOE game. They are only counted if they actually made an account in the game in question. So the mmogchart data is more accurate in that respect - however, its based on insider source data and not rated as "A" (= highly accurate).

For SWG I personally think the 110.000 is more accurate than the 190.000, with a significant drop between now and November to be expected as a lot of one year prepaid accounts will run dry (those who cancelled in disgust after NGE).

    Have fun

Agreed , they have total disregaurd. One would think what thaey would bent over back to keep their share of players but we have seen diffferent and now the competitors have benefited from their many business mistakes.

True, this is what it came down to. SOE hasn't changed. But competition has arrived.

With all their games, they spend too much time messing with mechanics, but not delivering content. EQ series are better off, but not much.

The thing about software is, people will put up with bugs, imbalances, glitches, as long as there's something to do. Changing mechanics is the search for holy grail, the silver bullet. It just doesn't exist.

SWG would be much better off, if they stuck with CU, and started pumping out expansions, one every 6 months. Along the line, they'd add extra char slot to all, but keep Jedi as it is. In all this time, majority of noticable bugs would be fixed, world would slowly be balanced, not so much because of SOE, but because it would settle, and players would adapt.

The insider source could be SOE and SOE would never ever lie about a thing like that would they? After all they never once lied to their community so they wouldnt lie to some third party that MMOers use for reference to make themselves look good huh?

As in the Combat Revamp that was being worked on for months but was then scrapped for the CU we got as a knee-jerk reaction to WoW.  The CU we ot was slapped together and ill-conceived.  I wouldn't want them to go to that.
Pre-CU, finish the combat revamp, and go from there.

    SWG Tempest: Cardo Dycen RIP
    Eve: Cardoh Dycen
I support random drug testing for all SOE employees
