Originally I was totally into Lineage2. Then I seen this game, and this is in my mind, the perfect setup for a game. But now since it got pushed.....I'll be buying Lineage2 as soon as it comes out....which now is not until March 28th. Ug...another pushed game. But at least I know when Lineage2 is coming out, whereas with DnL, we don't know yet!
I will probably try all of those games, but DnL is the most anticipated of them all at this point. I think UXO will suck, because it has /duel pvp only and no crafting what so ever.
The only problem I see with DnL is the fact that so many different countries will be on one server. We are going to have some language problems unless they make a few servers for different languages.
I would rather wait for the game to come out almost perfect and have them push it back a few more months rather then buying a game to BETA test it... just like DAoC, SB and a few others to name... Oh! AO! I'm shocked that AO made it to what it is!
I'm all about World of Warcraft... seems to be the most promissing.

I'm suprised SWG didnt come up in your list...that was one of the worst 'after release beta tests' i have ever seen.
I'm actually looking forward to all the different nationalities, I think it will add a nice diversity that is usually missing from all the otehr games ive been playing, and it'll give me an op to practice my liguistic skills. hehe

I am totaly going for DnL Lineage 2 is a morchery to the first one. The second game really sucks commpared to lineage one. The mages are really handicapped the archers are to powerful and they took out teleport! Damn it was becasue all those dumbass TK knights got really pissed when they tried 2 tk a newb and the newb would teleport the knights also got mad that when in seiges anyone with teleport would tele away before they could kill. So im definately going for DnL
Well, considering this poll is on the Dark and Light forum....I think it's a little biased Anyways, I think UXO will be different without crafting but I like UXO the most out of those three games. Hopefully I can try out DnL during beta to see what all they hype is about.
::Yordo:: EQ2, UXO, Lineage 2, KO, Guild Wars, City of Heroes
Don't worry about different languages. I currently play EVE online which uses the same concept - One Server to gather them all and in space bind them . And never heard of any communication problems. It seems that everyone knows english - some even better than americans I'm personally from Poland.
Ant it's great. I personally hate the idea of several servers different for different regions - almost like racism. AC2 European server had like 400 players max which sucked.
Blizzard which making WoW is well known company and has tons of fans. If you played Warcraft III, WoW would be basicly the same (same plot, story, characters etc even graphics). Good: would be lots of players. Bad: more then 1 world.
UX never was fan of this game dunno know why, cant say anything about it.
DnL is kind of new game which promisses alot. When I've heard that there would be only 1 world, I've jumped out of my chair thats great! I read all the FAQ sections and devchat logs on the main page the most important thing I found out is that DnL developers strongly think that PvP is the most important thing in the game. I was in shock because that what I was thinking about and always wanted from mmorpgs conquest, battles, trading crafted by me items not to dumb NPC but to another players like me(some are as dumb as NPCs no offense... macrosers maybe). That's why I strongly stand for DnL!
20 years later: *stepin in virtual reality sphere saying* yeah I was dumb back in the days, whatever...
I love the concept of Dnl, but I absolutely loved the last warcraft. It's hard to say, but i still prefer DnL, to see a different world. The screenshots of DnL do look a bit better, and the Frozen Throne community isn't great, to many insults compared to Dark Age.
Well, my loyalties are obviously with Dark and Light.
As for the other games: I know very little if anything about UXO - other than it doesn't look very appealing to me.
And as for WoW, I definitely hold alot of respect for Blizzard, they always have produced top-notch games and I'm sure WoW will be the same - however, I am cool with the graphics.... but not for a pay-to-play MMORPG. I want to be as immersed as I can but with that style of graphics they are going for it's hard to do that - I don't want to 'live' in a cartoon if you know what I mean.
Another thing that distresses me is the type of gamers Blizzard products have a tendency of attracting - no thanks! Though there are some very mature and respectable gamers I don't want to have to sift through the quagmire just to find them.
WoW has some great things going for it - One of my personal favorites is how they are doing the quests, very intriguing - but it's not something that I'll likely be investing in for a long-term subscription.
Zelph, I couldn't agree with you more about WoW. It's on the bottom of my list to be honest. I'll check it out when my brother or my friends get it but I don't think I'll be buying it myself.
The games I am definately going to get are:
DnL (obviously, why else would I be in this forum ) Guild Wars ( No monthly sub fee == a definite must have, no risk investment )
WOW will be perfect according to my XP with BLIZZARD. They take a long time to create the game but once it's released you can understand why it has been so long. Never forget STARCRAFT is still a PROGAMING CHAMPIONSHIP game which is slowly giving its place to the younger brother WARCRAFT 3. Both games a made by BLIZZARD and it means somthing, doesn't it?
DnL is completely new concept witha huge world, perfect races, proffesions and environment. For me this game wins 10/10 and i'll go for it.....
I'm giving a chance to both WoW and DnL, after release of both of them i'll see what to stick to, maybe i'll play both of them for a long long long time (I hope so)
I've been to many places, i've seen so many faces...
Man it's gonna cost tons to play both of the games. I know mush more about DnL than WoW, so i'm gonna stick to only DnL. If it comes out this summer I have about 6 months to get about 600CHF (about 450$)
300 for the game with a year of subscription
200for a new graphic card (My Ge-Force 2 is getting a little old)
and about 100 for a RAM boost (I think the game will need about 512MB, and I only have 256)
Yeah, i know , playing both games is quite expensive. I don't have to think about upgrade but it will cost a lot anyway (but you never know, maybe my FX5800 will be old at the time of DnL release and all computers around will be equiped with GF FX100000 Ultra).
DnL looks kinda more sophisticated but WARCRAFT is WARCRAFT
I've been to many places, i've seen so many faces...

Same goes for me. I have been keeping up with DnL for a while now, checking the website constantly to see if I got into the Beta and reading and re-reading the website about all the great features the game will have. It has been the game I have been waiting for since Everquest! I don't mind the single server with all nationalities, it'll be interesting. I am really looking forward to the PvP and all the cool areas to exxplore. I hope there will be some roleplaying in DnL, too.
I am waiting for my CD's for the Saga of Ryzom beta to see what that game is all about, but I will be getting DnL as soon as it is released. My list of games is the same as Gendail, but add one to the bottem of that list
I totally agree with that, players in FFXI are very friendly, whether they are from other countries or whatever, almost everyone I encounter is kind and helpful. Somehow and for some reason, I do not see the community for WoW being like this, but it's just my impression right now.
The community in SWG is mixed, but I play with mostly PA members and a closely knit group of roleplayers. The only new people I get to meet are the people who come to visit the Cantina in the city where I live and work.
Horizons, for the month I played, had a very . . . silent community.
I have been so out of touch with the others (EQ, DAoC, . . .) that I won't comment on them), but since I have been in the Lineage II beta, I can say that I have met many friendly people there, too (all from North America, of course, that game does not mix up the players like FFXI does. Overall I think giving the players an opportunity and choice on which type of server to play on is a good thing. If there will be just one huge server, that's fine too.

Conclusion: DnL definately
Sure WoW could be a good game... and it's already a known world...
But DnL is very promising... and the thing I like the most is there are real pen & paper role playing gamer at the top of this studio
As it come from Europe (France), I think we will be able to see other gameplay choices, like in EvE (Island) or Ryzom (France)...
And I forgot the very very promising Warhammer Online (UK) !! And it seems they will be very respectful of pen & paper RPG... it will be great !
This game looks like it's going to be done right, but I am gonna wait and see after it's released how it goes.
i hope DnL will ba really really good, but for right now im not to sure!!!

If anyone has played FFXI you will know that it seems as if other countries other than the U.S. seem to be alot friendlier in game.
I welcome the diversity, and believe that it will make the game alot friendlier place...
Well as friendly as a RvR game can be
We all live in virtual worlds defined by our own imagination.
