Since these forums are a little slow I figured I might as well make another topic

The White clans:

Shaolin (accepts men only)

Classes:

i. Luohan monks - These are the individuals who excel at external strength. They train hard to develop their bodies and master not only unarmed styles, but also weapons and powerful combination attacks.
ii. Chi-han monks - Chi-han accentuate their internal power. Some are so skilled that they can use vocal skills combined with their internal Chi to strike enemies at a long distance. Their Chi enables them to absorb damage that would have hurt any normal, untrained person.
iii. Jingang monks - These monks specialize in healing using their internal powers and knowledge. They are also skilled in fist fighting, and they are great to have on a team if you are going anywhere dangerous - which in 9Dragons, means anywhere!
iv. Deva monks - These are a unique form of Shaolin. They tend to be loners, and as such, they have developed their internal skills not only in fist fighting, at which they excel, but also at self-healing. Their reflective skills make them very appropriate for solo play.

Gai-Pan

Classes:

i. Vanguard beggars - Vanguards are great brawlers. They understand the drunken monkey fighting style and can also use staves with great power.
ii. Dragon fighters - Dragon fighters use Chi or inner spiritual power to enhance their fighting abilities. Although physically weak, they use mind skills to increase their defense or absorb a physical attack.
iii. Healers - Healers only have a few fighting skills, but can help other players by healing them. They can also increase others' health or defense temporarily, or cure internal or external wounds. Healers are especially essential when player parties want to explore dungeons or to engage in battles with other parties or guilds.
iv. Spiritual fighters - They are the jack of all trades. They can use drunken monkey fighting, strengthen themselves with their Chi and even heal themselves. However, remember - jack of all trades, master of none!

Wu-Tang

Classes:

i. Blue Dragons - These are the backbone of the Wu-Tang fighting power. They learn 'Cloud sword' and 'Wind sword' related skills that give them extra speed and power.
ii. Black Turtles - They embody the tough spirit of Wu-Tang. They have learned how to handle Chi flawlessly and they protect themselves using Chi protective skills.
iii. Red Phoenixes - They need high intelligence to be successful. They help other players using healing and protection skills, but they have a specific attack skill called Tai-Chi fist fighting.
iv. White Tigers - They can learn all the Wu-Tang skills except sword fighting because that requires dedicated training. But it's really hard to master all the skills, so they have to keep learning.

The Black Clans:

Lu-Lin

Classes:

i. Warrior bandits - These are some of the toughest men you will ever meet. They are skilled with the spear and the axe, and they use their physical strength and training to take the enemy down in a combat situation. They learn all the spear skills of Lu-Lin, and some of them develop skills for confusing their opponents, especially when they are in their home territory and can use local knowledge of the terrain to their advantage.
ii. Brigands - Brigands do not like to get too close to their enemies. They prefer to strike from a distance, particularly using the height of the mountains to their advantage. They are good at avoiding or absorbing enemy attacks and then striking back with long-range counter-attacks. As a fighting style, this requires patience and tenacity. The brigand does not seek to win with one clever strike, but will wear down his opponent and then finish him off with a killer blow.
iii. Gold-rogues - Rogues are often credited as being the only intelligent class in the Lu-Lin - especially by other rogues! This does not mean that they are weak, but they prefer to use their skills in a group situation. If the Lu-Lin are mounting an attack, they need to take rogues with them in the group. Rogues can heal and help other classes by improving their stats. They also get many skills that help them to protect themselves; a gold-rogue's first job is to look after himself!
iv. Taishan bandits - These are the all-rounders of the Lu-Lin. They excel at scouting off by themselves for long periods of time. They are the loners of the bandit clan. Even for a Lu-Lin, they are very untrusting of others, even though they know how to look after themselves. They use axes for close-range combat and can concentrate their chi for long-range. Being essentially loners, they have also learned to heal themselves.

Mi-Gong (accepts women only)

Classes:

i. Mistress of war - As you would expect from the name, Mistress of war is a very belligerent class! They like to get very up close and personal. They prefer to use flying wheels from a very close range to literally slice up their opponents. Not only are they deadly in close range combat, but they can also use a few mind control skills as disciples of Mi-Gong.
ii. Mistress of spirit - Watch out for these ladies because they're great at mind control skills. They can use their chi powers to deal long-range attacks. But in contrast to their high inner strength, they are physically relatively weak. Not that that stops them from dominating all around them!
iii. Mistress of heaven - They're the most intelligent and considerate disciples of Mi-Gong. They use their skills to help other disciples. They are adept at healing and increasing other people's attacks. But don't mistake gentleness for weakness! Their dagger skills are legendary, and many an opponent, thinking the battle won, has found a black dagger sticking out of his heart!
iv. Mistress of cloud - The Mistresses of cloud tend to be the scouts of the Mi-Gong. Their skills cover all aspects of Mi-Gong fighting skills, and this generalist nature allows them to explore strange environments by themselves. While not as individually skilled as any of the other types, they can learn dagger fighting, healing, mind controlling and long-range skills. However, they need to choose their skills carefully because they are seeking to balance the entire spectrum of Mi-Gong abilities

Mo-Jiao

Classes:

i. Blood demons - These are the spearhead of the Mo-Jiao fighting force. They are truly fearless, and will attack without hesitation. They are masters of the broadsword and gain special skills such as 'Heavenly demon sword' and 'Infernal sword'.
ii. Storm demons - These are masters of inner spirit skills. They use 'Iron demon' protective skills and 'Gold demon' long-range chi attacks. They are relatively weak in close combat, but never plan to get in that close anyway!
iii. Phantom demons - They have unique evil skills that can absorb opponents' inner power or chi. They are also trained in 'Blood demon' fist fighting skills.
iv. Flame demons - They learn all Mo-Jiao clan skills including sword fighting, but as generalists, they can never attain the same level of mastery as the other types.

I am probably going with Gai-pan myself, at least until I find out more about the unmentioned other 3 clans.

If I had to pick one today I'd go with Wu-Tang. But until more information is released and the game is actually here, I can't say for sure which one I'll go with.

    Mo-Jiao for me

  •  mo-jiao.........BLOOD DEMON , who ever wants to join mo jiao, post it on this forum and i'll give u my mail addy..........we can all work together.....this game has great hype btw.
  •  also like GaiPan and WuTang too......GaiPan mayb hobo gang, but they r kool........dunno if u guys ever hard of DragonSlaying Sword and Cloud sword (ancient chinese history) it's about a husband and a wife......husband (KawJinn...i dunno how to spell it in english but trying to sound as near as possible) grows up in Mongolia, he wields DS Swrd. his wife....the bagger girl ShaoMai .... who is not really bagger....but the daughter of North Island Lord...... she wields the Cloud Sword....anyway, it's not about them i want to tell.....it's about one of the masters of KawJinn and ShaoMai .....the master is the guild leader of GaiPan....real tough guy...he uses the staff....which is actually a very good bamboo stick...he calls it DogHitting Staff....really powerful....combining with his famous combo called "Dragon Art....Combo( Phy+Chi)"..... when he died, he also took the leader of Evil Clans Union  with him.....Gai Pan is very famous......

WuTang......the Grand Master( the eldest ancestor) is Master JianSunPhone....... he is very famous and as well as his clan WuTang.....he was from Shaolin when he was young......but he is not a monk anymore when he founded WuTang.... he becomes.....Guru ( u don't need to shave head but understand the nature of spiritural word ...... and Hermony of life..ying and young..) he also has very outstanding students. among them, 7 of them r very famous in martial world..........they r know as 7 WuTangs(students of WuTang)....they r very unique students and they r also sworn brothers ( They sworn to be  brothers Forever by drinking each other's blood) . BTW, master Jian had a gf too( i think that's one of the reason he left Shaolin). his gf is known as the founder of AwMei ( all girls clan * they shave their heads like.....nuns* in fact, they r nuns).  WuTang has very unique sword move.....extraordinary move.... performed by 7 WuTangs ( the very first group to perform that sword move after master Jian created it) . The move is called " 7 stars swordmanship or 7 stars swordmove..( now we know why 7 persons r required to perform this move * to be the most effective *)......

Those stories i told above r real history.....as real as GingistKhan.....this has nothing to do with the game, but i'm just sharing a piece of history i learnt with u guys...i hope u don't fell asleep by reading this. ahahaha . but history is very interesting indeed. those things i said above cannot be find easily on internet...i don't think they r even on the internet..........i read those from books.....really old books....that i found them dusty and with spiderwebs on it....lol.....even though i'm doing science subjs in College, i like to do history and Geo and other stuffs.........after all ... knowledge is like a thirst.....it never runs out but u always crave for more.....
SHARING A BIT OF MY MEMORIES WITH THE READER. HOPE U ENJOY IT.

This poll result is surprisingly similar to our result of the Vietnamese version of the game. Heheh, we have Mo-jiao lead, Wu-tang follows and Gai-pan finishs third.

  • AkikiAkiki Member Posts: 95
So does that mean Gai-pan probably isn't the best choice? In your honest opinion as someone who has actually played the game: which clan is the best to join?
  • atlaznboiatlaznboi Member Posts: 100
tbh, il choose the clan that has the coolest char customization. so i dont really know which clan yet

    And then they throw down.

Mo jiao - Blood demons for me  After watching the Mo Jiao movie, i have been impressed
  •  ya Mo-Jaio video is pretty impressive.........but it's just a video ... can't tell anything yet....i didn't consider ShaoLin that's cuz most of the ppl will choose ShaoLin and it'll be very hard to be a guild master of ShaoLin since there is gonna be tough compitition.......so Akiki, don't think GaiPan is not good.....u'll become a guild master easily ...... [mayb they r gonna make a celebrity server....with your char's name] rofl!! but hey , anything is possible..........if i play, my choice would be between GaiPan,Wutang and MoJaio......dunno about Lulin though......they look like hunters...hehehe...babarian hunters...with tiger skin as their robe....but u need to check out the build of char.....i don't think the clans u join will be problem with your char build...GMs and Programmers will make it equal for all the gangs...

I think i'm going for the Mo-Jiao clan as my first pick. i really love the fighting style. But i'm also going to try the Lu-Lin clan, the axe fighting style seems pretty good too

  • Emoian_07Emoian_07 Member Posts: 183
Actually, after thinking about it, Shaolin still may be one of my picks, but my first pick will be a Gai Pain Beggar.

Mi-Gong looks good to me. And since I'm a female irl, it's a natural choice ;)

It's about time another girl showed up. I was starting to think I was the only one who wanted to play this game .

Heheh, Mi-Gung philosophy is "men are all pigs and deserve to be control by women"
They are a collection of ill-fated women who wanted to take revenge on the rest of the world. Cunning and beautiful, their moto is "you don't have to be more powerful than a man to control him, you can do that just by marrying to him"   Mi-Gung control the world through goverment officer's wives and beautiful but deadly geishas.

As much as I like their philosophy , I am still going with gai-pan (or wu-tang, still can't decide).
  • KaedeaKaedea Member Posts: 6
I have nothing against their philosophy, sounds very good indeed :D I wanna be a deadly geisha!

I am actually playing the vietnamese close beta...one thing i can say, the graphic is very good ...i can say its 9/10 (well, nothing perfect...so this game is the best graphic in its kinda so far)...I joined Gai-Pan  but the thing is, I still cant figure it out how to join the unphysical class of Gai-Pan ( Chi users) ... this game will take you a couple of hours to just figure it out all of its basic aspects (play the game and you will know what i mean)...quite a complicated online game...and its  the most unusual game i have every played ... tell me this, have you played any games that quest require you type in the own answers ( that's right they dont give you multiple choices for you to choose) :D ..weird and abiti annoying ...but may its a really good game so far for me... in vietnamese version they had only released 6 clans to test and holding other 3 clans for open beta (or may be for second close beta...) but as in their website annountment, 2 out of 3 hidden clans will be controled by PLAYERS (another weird good thing in this game but that mean I am not sure if we can learn any kung-fu in those clans) and the 3rd is just a normal controled by NPC...

my final words: dont be surprised now,coz there are plently surprises in the games for you ...:D

  • AkikiAkiki Member Posts: 95
That sounds interesting, and really in-depth. I wonder what those other clans will be like, did they say anything else about them (like what do they mean by "controlled by players")? Also, could you post some screens of the game?
