HEYYy that's right next to me... Guys you want me to check it out?
What's your Wu Name? Donovan --> Wu Name = Violent Knight Methane47 --> Wu Name = Thunderous Leader "Some people call me the walking plank, 'cuz any where you go... Death is right behind you.." <i>ME<i>
What...is that? Anyway, was that brought for about 1.5k? If it was then that is a joke. You can get more money selling that to a museum.
Thats not a mermaid. That is . . . it's on the tip of my tongue...the things from WCIII with the trident...
Naga. Or maybe Murloks.

Of course it's fake. However, check the seller's history. He/She has sold numerous of these types of things. The story is usually the same. "I was walking down this secluded beach someplace in Florida and look what I came across...".
If you read the fine print, he/she is only gauranteeing the authenticity of the parts (fish skin, scales, fins, etc.). The story is just fluff, though it does add some flavor to the pieces. The seller is also making a killing with these things, btw.
I think it is a very cool form of "taxidermical" art (if there is such a thing).
The world needs more jack-o-lopes and PT Barnums. More power to him/her.

It sold for $1500. I think the quality of it is worth $1500. It's really good if you look at it up close. Putting something like that in your living room would definitely be a conversation piece.

No kidding!?
Damn, I was just about to buy it!
::NOT!!::
Edit:
OMFG Someone actually bought it for like 1.5k!
WHO THE HELL'S THAT DUMB!?
Dude, lets think about this. I'm 100% sure that the person who bought it did not actually beleive it to be real. No one is that stupid. I'm guessing that the person who bought it was actually a collector, maybe the guy is into horror movies, well this is pretty close to horror. Add 1 and 1 dude, its not hard math.

I completely agree, I bet rich people will pay a lot of money for a curiosity thingy if you can make one.
I think with all the time and creativity that went into making it, it is probably a bargain, if you went to a designer and asked him to make something like this for you it might cost more? I don't know how you put a price tag on stuff like that really.
It reminds me of that simpsons episode when the barbecue Homer tries to make becomes a valued piece of art.
