i have been reading about thisfor some time, so i thought i might collect a few opinion..

i still think its best to make them te good old-fasion way
also, in my opinion, it is wrong to bring up a child without a father, every child should have a mother and father there to care for them as they grow up.. anyone agree?

You speak of it in an unethical manner. The purpose of this study is to help those with infertile or, cannot produce healthy enough sperm to concieve a child.

As for same sex couples having children or a single parent family, I think it's a wonderful thing. I've seen plenty of two parent/mother-father family's mess up their kids, as far as I'm concerened, it's about the love welfare that child receives not who it comes from.
Morality of the technology asside, I think it's amazing that many people who wanted children and could not before, whether because of life style choices or not, may soon have that option. Think of it, if someone or a couple wants children so badly that they would go to this extent, do you not think they really want that child.
Of course it's not a given that they will be great parents, but given that or some 15 year old who getting knocked up to spite her parents, I know who I want to have kids.

So if same-sex couples turn out so many f'd up kids, where are they? I haven't heard of one single person who got messed up from having same sex parents. You'd think by now there would be some poster child for the right wing to point to. Where are they?

Rather, I was referring to a hypothetical situation sometime in the future when our species may, for one reason or another, be depleted to the point where such advances in biotechnology could potentially save us from it. Does humanity have the self control to not use this tech until we actually need it? Of course not. If we use it now, it will hurt, not help. Artificial sperm, artificial eggs..we could mass produce millions of synthetic beings. Would they be humans? Kind of, sort of, maybe. Any research could theoretically save us from extinction. Maybe we should research some advanced super flavorful popsicle technology that we could trade to aliens in exchange for our safety.
That's what I was trying to express.

ya but its a really bad idea in the long run this type of technology has no other application then to bite us in the ass.
but as long as a parent has a loving family things will generally go the best they can for the circumstance.
however i vastly think its better for children to have two healthy parentsl, i know cus ive never had a functional mother or see mine in 4 years now(about).
not having two parents puts added responsibility on the children and takes away a lot of their childhood.
but as for children being raised entirely without men is a bad idea.
if women choose not to have fathers for their children i dont think its a great idea, because men need male influences, as well as female influences and vice versa.
Shae would you really also want to find out that you only have half the biological family a "natural" child, and your perspective father never even existed....... would it really feel good when compared to kids who have two natural parents that you grow up with?
