Just a few questions about Warhammer for those that might know.
1) How good will the crafting system be? Will there be actual skill involved or will it be just "collect x items and push the button" (big WoW gripe for me)
2) Are they doing anything to address or try to prevent faction imbalances? (when I played DAOC (and should have stayed, but that's another story) we were always outnumbered 3 or more to 1 against by Albions, one of my big DAOC gripes)
3) Is high-end PvE going to give a disproportionate advantage to those who complete it? A slight advantage? No advantage at all? How hard will it be to complete this content (please no 40-mans, I'll do a hard 5 or even 10 man any day of the week though)
4) I have a job. Will I be penalized for this? (I can't advance in PvP rank in WoW because I can't play 24/7, every day)
5) I have an XBOX 360. Will this game work as good on a console as on PC, or should I invest in a computer? (My current one will run WoW and DAOC but not anything new that's any good)
Thanks!

2) Eh... Don't know
3) I highly doubt there will be an etreme dissblanace in gear unlike the "epic" WoW gear of pwnage. From what I can recall its a player skill based PvP system.
4) Nope it won't effect it at all. There is no degrading "honor" You can only advance in rank and not get punished for not grinding for 4 months to get the highest rank.
5) I Don't even know if WAR will be on the consoles.
Sorry I'm not that much help. But thats what I know and thats pretty old knowladge to me. Things could of changed since then.

there has been a whisper of a rumor that WAR MIGHT be on a Xbox 360, I can see this rumor coming from the release of Microsoft Live Anywhere being launched on Windows Vista which apparently will allow concole/pc/handheld crossover functionality. Although I can't see it happen as MMO's are really the domain of the PC and nothing official has been said by Mythic.
Over buying a new PC the game needs to be as inclusive as it can and although the optimum specs will be fairly high I bet that the minimum specs will be very low, Although if you are buying a PC to play this, hold back until it's almost out as by then you'll get Windows Vista (which is released early 2007) and you'll have the most up to date possible PC you can.
Mythic did get WAR to work on xbox during the E3 event. However what their plans are for including xbox for final release is still unknown.
As for loot, Mythic has stated that a person can do 100% pvp or 100% pve and not be penilized in character strength. When you kill a human controled character you will be able to get loot off of the body. Now this loot isn't the gear that the person had on him (he keeps his stuff) but the loot is created by the server the moment the avatar dies.
Will you be required to raid with 40 people 6+ hours a day/4+ times per week?
I haven't read alot about end game raiding yet.
Firing squad, ready your aim. . .Better find your purpose in life here; here, while you still have breath.
-Gobbo Knight
"Tie two birds together...they have four wings, but cannot fly." -Blind man, Circle of Iron
So far I haven't seen any downsides, but since this game is still in development we don't know yet.
Next question: Will RvR (PvP) be restricted to certain areas? If I am human and I step foot in a greenskin area, I'm probably fair game, but can I attack any greenskin in their own area first?
1) we have a good 0 details about the crafting system so far. I dunno where the other poster got his info about decay system and not, but i have not heard or read it anywhere what we know is just speculation from recent interviews that would seems to indicate crafting will be more about enhancing existing stuff than creating new one. Could be true, could not be.
Fact is the crafting system is still under wraps.
2) The Dogs of war system mentioned has nothing to do with general inmbalance. that is used only for "scenarios" instanced missions, where players number imbalance will be fixed with npcs. As for general imbalance, Mythic has no fixed plans for now. possibly the faction with least number could get some game bonus like more experience gained or something similar, but again sadly nothing certain is known.
3) Raids have not been a great part of DAoC if we remove trials of atlantis. From what we know, pvp is the focus of this game and a old post by mark jacobs said you, ideally, would do 80% pvp and 20% pve at end game. That kinda eliminates the idea of 40 persons huge raids that are REQUIRED to work well in PvP.
4) AS DAoC has a more linear system of pvp advancement than wow, prolly WAR will have the same meaning even if you are a casual, you will get some advancement in this. they have said to support soloing also, so casuals (me included) should be set.
5) There are no official informations about an xbox 360 version. Considering though that Mythic is now owned by EA and that EA pioneered the console rts market with Battle for middle earth II, i would say there are good possibilities of a X-box 360 version out at the same time or little later than the pc version. Beside that, though, i still prefer playing mmorpgs on pcs, so i would advice upgrading your gaming rig.
"If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime"
THe game has clearly separated PvE and PvP areas. in any given region there is a conflict place where pvp fights is enabled.
This said, the concept of Dwarves in greenskin cities and viceversa has not been cleared enough... so... uh? who knows...
