NEW GUIDE (Only if you decide to play)
Out of all the Seal Onlines (kSO, idSO etc), jSO probably has the most supported english community. Although you can't talk publicly in town (GM's ban those who play jSO, who are english), I found a SO community called STL (Seal the Love).
There are english translation patches, but I don't recommend anyone use it because it messes up the game whenever a large patch is released. Those who decide to play, may use it untill they are familiar with the game.
There is a chat room in-game (Alt + C) called STL. Password = sealthelove. If any of you need anything, just go in the chatroom. Press the middle button on the charoom window to play & chat at the same time.
Some basic information about the game should spark some interest, because this game is honestly one of the best game's out there that are F2P (Cash shop ran game), and I'd love to see more english players playing along with us. Get's pretty boring with the same few faces xP.
There are many features such as the pet system, fishing and quests. (I will relate a lot to RO, since I played RO for the longest time ever... I'm sure most of you are familiar with it as well)
You raise pets by feeding them when they get hungry (Roughly every 2.5 minutes), and they "Level Up" as you give them exp via food. After a pet reaches +9 (Level 9) and 100% (EXP), you can evolve them into a variet of different other pets. Each branch of pet gives different stats, so you can pick which pet you want according to your character's class. The pets do not attack for you, but simply fly around you and give you stats (Like equipment).
Fishing is for those who love to play 24/7, but sleep at the same time. Fishing involves using the monster drops you find, and sticking them in water, and hoping to find good stuff. 300 (Max capacity of 1 type of item), will last about 8 hours, perfect for sleep and when you're at school.
There are a variety of quests. Quests that you recieve from the quest managment NPC ask you to hunt a certain amount of items, and return it to the NPC. After completing the quest, you will recieve Fame, Money and EXP.
Fame is needed to do other quests, and improve your rank name in-game. Ranks determine the % you lose when you die. For example, when you start off you lose about 6-8% at death. Now I lose around 2% (at 100k fame). Fame also allows you to equip better equips/pets, and improve your bed (Sleeping = healing, equivilent to RO's sitting skill).
Other quests include story quests, where you run several erands for different people for a large amount of fame and/or money. These quests allow you to do other quests, and recieve rare items that can only be recieved once per character.
Upgrading items allow the items to perform better, giving more stats. The higher the level of the weapon, the more shiney it becomes. There are uniques in this game as well. These uniques end the item name with ".G", ".DG" or ".XG". These items increase attack by a % (on certain accessories, all weapons), or decrease % of damage taken (On armours). It is possible to create these items with a Craftsmen.
The Combo system is also quite interesting. As you attack a monster (melee), you can press A,S,D key to do certain combos. Different combination of keys you press result in different combos performed. You can only do combos if you have the Combo skill that cooresponds with your weapon type (DO NOT GET FOR MAGE). Although you cannot type the letter A,S,D while in a fight, it is still a very usefull skill. The damage increases each time as you get further into the combo, and end with a final bash, and war cry.
Changing hair is also possible, at any time. Hairs come in 100k, or 1,00,000 (1 million) prices. (You can see my hair change once in a while in screenshots)
CLASSES
KNIGHT-
Knight's are the AoE (Area of effect/spread damage) characters. They have the highest damage skill, and highest defence. This class is a very good class to start off with, expensive in the end. Another build includes Impact (Bashes), which are spammed and deal massive damage to a single target.
WARRIOR -
Warriors are also very good to start off with, ending up as an expensive character. Warriors are all about Double Slash (Type of bash, deals massive damage), or combos.
JESTER -
All about attack speed. Related to RO assassin, only difference is that jester's are long range. Jester's have two branches. Jester, and Clown. Jester's are about bashing skills, and Clown is about support. Clown skills can buff attack speed, or steal the stats off another user and use it for themselves. Jesters can throw darts (Expensive), and use far range high damaging skills.
CLERIC -
Exactly like RO's Acolyte. Battle Clerics do exist, but aren't the best class if you want to fight. Some buffs include : Str + , Def + , Walking speed +, Accuracy + etc.
CRAFTSMEN -
All about crafting. It's the class' soul purpose. Don't make this class as your first character, or if you want to make it your main character. It's only good for forging, crafting etc.(Craftsmen's are needed to appraise level 90+ equipment)
MAGE -
Very good first class since they are the one's who put the money in the bank. Very high damage, very cheap, and easy to use. Long range attacks, as well as AoE attacks are available. (Note: Male mages look like fags. That's why I'm a female mage <_<)

PS. If you start playing, please play on the third server. (Servers beside the picture of the girl with blonde hair). That's where the majority of the STL and english community plays.

Funny, when we talk of banning chinese players (ebay farmers) from our games, we are racist bastards... but as usual, I see that it only works one way.
It looks like a lot of troubles you have to go through in order to play that game... Why bother while there's about a hundred clones of those?
Just choose one where you won't get banned for stupid reasons like your language... (wtf)
What deserves to be done, deserves to be "well" done...
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

about tlaking in public thats what my friend wrote and its old, u dont really get banned for that only ways to get banned...
1. Shouting in public in english(it is a japanese game so dont say its racism)
2. Abusing japanese players(ksing them alot or swearing at them)
3. Only way to get banned for speaking in public is if ur talking way too much or ur saying something offensive and they understand it(some of them do speak english)

Thank you for taking the time to post all of this information.
the game looks interesting and while I am usually more interested in roleplay, which I would not expect to get much of being an English speaking player in a primarily Asian game world, I think I will still at least give it a try.
Anything to help show that there is interest in some of these games that do not make it to English speaking countries. I know that I was very disappointed about not getting Tales of Eternia, like many others that I know.
From your screenshots it looks as though there is possibly a decent amount of English content. Can you honestly get through all that you need to without getting stopped cold because you cannot understand some npc spouting quest text in Japanese? Well, I suppose I will find out soon enough.
Also, I think people saying it has a strange name may be focusing on the aquatic animal perhaps and not a seal as in a seal to keep something from getting out.

For anyone who might actually be interested, I was surprised to see that the download site does not have a speed restriction. I am getting about 500 kb/sec (and I am posting to kill time while I wait 18 or so minutes for the 540 MB DL).
