yeah me too, after seeing that video on youtube i really think this game has a lot of room for improovement because it look like there is little to no strategy in the whole game :X
Also i would like to know if they plan on havingh any pvp? If by online they mean you can play campaign with 1 friend, and it's not p2p it might be interesting but having us pay will kill the game so quick lol.
I just read this on there website:
Sign up Your Guild! If you're in a guild, be sure to supply your guild's information when signing up for the Beta Program. In some cases we will be inviting groups of players from the same guild, so players who enter their guild information increase their chances of being chosen. If you are not already in a guild, you can always plan a guild for LOTRO, get others to join, and submit that information in the guild section of the Beta application. Be sure that all guild members enter in the same information (type out the entire guild name instead of using the guild's abbreviation) to further increase your chances of getting into the Beta Program.
Special Guild Invitations! In addition to the above guild benefits, we're also going to be inviting members from the top 100 guilds who sign up the most people as part of a special guild Beta invitation. The top 10 guilds will automatically receive up to 100 Beta invites and the remaining top 90 will get up to 20 invites! This special invitation will be sent sometime after Beta 1.
That is a kinda cool move in my book... If you can give us more details about the game please do so!!!
To those worried about the game speed, the videos out there on the net are old, from early alpha by reports. Talk with the developers has confirmed that the speed of combat will be "tweaked" during beta, increased if need be to ensure good game play.
Also PVP will be included in this game, certainly though in a more limited role than in some games. So if PVP is your bread and butter, and the only thing you really care about this game will probably not hold your attention. Fortunately there are tons of games where pvp is the focus that you can continue to enjoy.
Looking forward to a vigorous beta to ensure a good game with minimal bugs at release.
Wow i must see things ALOT different than some of you.I thought that video on youtube was pretty decent. There was nothing wrong at all in the video gameplay that i could see.If you are merely elluding to the fact that the animations are not asian type 500mph swings,3 button mashes and the mob is dead, then yep it looks boring.I have no idea about the actual battle mechanics, however a slower more realistic battle sequences offer time for stratedgy. If the battle mechanics are very in depth then the battles should last a little longer than 3 button mashes,so as to offer a realk stretegic type gameplay.>>>action/reaction/avoidance/provoking/reaction/buffing /debuffing.Yes this is what real battle mechanics should be like, and you won't be used to it at all if you play nothing but MU type games.I'm not hyped into this game at all, however i just have to say there is nothing wrong with the gameplay from that video.Perhaps if anything the mobs look a little cheap and even the players look like nothing special.
The real thing that caught my eye in the video was TURBINE,i absolutely think they are a joke and i predicted they would make a joke oughta the DnD game and i was right.DnD was and still is a sorta EPIC game with a great history so the same sorta effort shoulda been put into the game and turbine just can't deliver. No reason to believe turbine will deliver here either.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Why does this have to be posted twice (not trying to offend you Dralon) people!? I had already said that the videos were really old and yet people show up here and give the same comments/questions about it. I think instead of just taking a quick look at the vid and instantly replying to the thread even those there's another 3 pages is plain retarded... ignorance isn't always bliss..
i'm active...rather new but when i heard about the new LOTR Online game i found this site to and decided i can't wait til this game comes out! it's gonna be great thats for sure!

Diddo here. I can't wait for LOTRO. But I'm REALLY new here
Yea LOTRO looks way cool. I fi can win in the beta and be able to test that will determine if i'll buy it or not. Honestly i think this looks way cooler then WOW. (World of warcraft). I honestly dont' like World of Warcraft but i can tell on my opinion this will be better. Will Good game they are making and i hope it is succesfull.
lol how many people that has replied to this post works for turbine? some of the posts from different users look to be posted from the same user too.
guess turbine learned from the DnD forums. getting their post count up now so they can do up a million 9 votes for the game? If this game is good it will gather players with ease. if it sucks how much you want to bet these same posters will be the ones to be trying to scam people into playing? damn shills of the world.

Just to clear things up, a Beta testing is not for you test if you like the game, so it determine if you will buy it or not. So if you are not there to test the actual game, get out of the way and let the tester to their job to make sure the game comes out bugfree.
Get a life you freaking Gamer.....no no, you don't understand, I'm a Gamer, I have many lives!!

Will I would also look for bugs. I just mean that i would also like to test and look for bugs and stuff. Because if it's not fun I won't want to buy it.
This is only the game I've eagerly been waiting for since I played my first MUD in 1989. I've been in many, many MMORPG beta tests and a couple of Alphas. I'd do almost anything to get into this one!
