Okay i live in Canada and why the hell can,t i be in Ryzom beta contest!!!

    Yeah I know... I live in Canada too.

    But they say that we might still be able to join, they are waiting to hear from the company.(though I think the chances is slim)

    but i don't know why not canada , the company is in france so if they ship it to amerika they can ship it as good to canada not ?

    I noticed the company is in france too... maybe we can't join because some legal technicalities.

    Seriously, they should really consider Canada... come on, we got a whole province that speaks French, and we didn't dis France like our neighbor down southimage it should be a bonus

    I believe the decision is purely business decision. I am not sure whether there will be legal complications for betaing in US and CAnada.

    but I believe the original decision for betaing in US is because US has about 10 times the purchase power than Canada. US will most likey be their main customer base and revenue sources. That's why they choose US. Therefore, when they conduct their market research (yes, beta in a way is a very good market research) they will do it in US.

    Why not Canada? I don't know...

    P.S for people in Asian, there is something called Hentai games. So I doubt it will be a factor for them to choose MMORPG anyway.

    Jolt is stating that they are hosting it as a Open beta, so everyone that fills out at the site will get a spot in the beta.

    So, the WoW beta sign up has finally begun. The time for thousands and thousands of middleaged virgins to apply and get rejected is at hand.

    This is only partially correct, Jolt is hosting the EUROPEAN Open beta which is exactly why the contest here is open to US residents only (and possibly Canada, I believe Admin is still waiting to hear back from them on that) because those residing here in the States can NOT apply for the European OPEN from that site, we can however apply for the closed beta. I believe the US open beta is not for another few months yet.

    Quick Comment, Nevrax is not handling the US Beta as far as I know (but they did do the european portion.) I assume this is being done by the US Company...as for not including canada, no idea.

    Not sure if a US Company is handling our beta or not. My beta CD came directly from Nevrax in Paris France. I guess they could be just sending out the CDs and having another company handle things state side.

    That was the CD for the current closed beta phase and that phase is handled by Nevrax. However, the more "open" beta phase that is likely to start some time in March/April is handled by Themis for North America and by Jolt for Europe I believe.

    I just applied to win for the US contest (I live in Florida). I'm really excited! About you Canadians, I feel your pain and if there is any way the on-line community can influence the eligibility of the contest to extend to Canada, I pledge the full support of me and my fellow Americans!

    Congratulations to Canada! Wow, only a few minutes after I posted about my willingness to help out, an Administrator comes on and gets a whole country on board for possible Beta admission! Is that cool or what?! This is what community boards are all about!

    Im canadian and Im in, only issue is its taking forever for the CD to arrive >.<
    Canada should be in, because heck, a lot of us are bi-lingual, french and english, which is the main languages of Ryzom.
