I think they are wasting a ton of money mailing out all of the CD's in the mail. It is a major hassle I'm sure for them and all of the testers since they have to wait for it. It would be much easier for everyone if they just made the client available online to ONLY the beta testers. All they would need is a log on in that section of the website to make sure that only the testers were downloading the client. Much easier IMHO.

Actually, believe it or not it may in fact be cheaper to mass produce a bunch of CDs and mail them out. With the amount of CDs they have to have pressed, I am sure they got them done for next to nothing. (CD duplication done en masse is relatively cheap) and they probally paid a bulk rate for postage to send them all off.
Compare that to the cost of the bandwidth they would be using having people from across the globe access their server and downloading over 1.5g of information at a time and you will probally see they took the cheaper way out of it

Cuss if u live in like... Australia.. the mail will take 4 weeks Oo.. I live in Canada though.. BUT STILL it takes a hella a long time for the cd to pop into our mailbox.. it would piss any beta tester off :P
I received email "You have been selected to take part in The Saga of Ryzom Beta 2", will I receive another saying it's been sent, or is this the 1? (really was hopeing for download option since I've got cable, oh well...)
