PSO is not an MMO. (unless this one you are talking about is drastically different design).
We already have Guild wars, the two are alike, and even the Guild Wars devs will tell you its not an MMO.

Yes Phantasy Star Universe is on 3 platforms actually.. PS2, PC, and XBOX 360. I know this site has the game under it's directory for basic info but a specific forum thread for it would be cool.

I don't think PSU is an mmorpg either. they still have those rooms like old PSO, but I think the cap for those rooms are..is it something like 65, or 120? I can't remember. but a lot, LOT more then the usual 4 players.

Dunno, here is the quote off the features
"Fans will travel with a squad of other adventurers, enter urban sprawls teeming with hundreds of other players, and build their avatars into powerful warriors."
The IGN hands on said they didn't get to play the online portion yet only the single player portion. I guess thats the problem with releasing so many games with the same name. Everyone gets confused and doesn't know what is what.
The game is going to have an offline mode that has characters that can only be used offline, something they added for PSU that wasn't from PSO. PSU does fit more of an mmorpg genre then PSO did also, due to indication's that the room sizes are going to be larger. Both for waiting to join a group, and also the group's cap being raised from 4 to 6. This game probably could use it's own forum, but as it's going to be released allready in October...not sure if they will put one up.

If an MMO has an "offline" mode for a few levels I don't see how that disqualifies it as an MMO, As long as you can play it online with many others in a persistant world, then its a massive multiplayer online game.
Conan will have a "offline" mode for the first 20 levels then you join the persistant world. Its describe as your "tutoral". Its also where you experience the begining story.
Lord of the Rings is going to do something like this also.
It looks like devs are trying this out to see if it add more to the story / rpg portion of MMO's. They may be trying to get away from the crap "spawn in front of an NPC who gives you a generic welcome and a kill task to kill 10 rats".
I'm in a beta right now and guess what? Welcome to ______world, go talk to so and so who gives me a kill task. Its very pathetic. Its the same crap we've had for the past 10 years.
Its good to see some of these companies at least trying to break the mold. I'm all for an exciting beginning in my game. In Conan you start in a slave galley rowing a ship. In LotR you start out in a happy place and then bandits some and attack the town (or something similar) I really hope I'm wrong about Turbine. I hope they pull a decent game out of the hat for once.
Oh an offline tutorial type thing, I have never played a game with that. But from what I understand, PSU will have a lobby, where you meet up and go into a game world just like PSO. Any game where you start in a lobby isn't truely an mmorpg.
