Wait, you won't play eve because you don't get an avatar? WTF does an avatar have to do with game play in a game where you fly a ship!
Oh wait my bad EvE does have avatars that you can get out of your ship with.

But I will say this. If you can not RP with out a moving avatar you must have very poor RP / imationation skills to begin with. RP is not /emotes that make you dance and move flashing by is a chat room it a story you take an active part in by playing a role that effects the out come. Oh and EvE has that.

No because it would be silly to compair the PvP in an MMO to the PvP in a FPS it's totally different things.But I will say this. yeah..but the prob is...pvp is nothing more then kill some not friendly pixels

but some people are unable ro roleplay if they cant make their wood elfs dance and make silly jumps.
anyway, nero got it right, EVE pvp is 10 times better than any fps
yeah sure eve pvp cures cancer
but u will not see much pvp in eve...nobody will risk those ships if they cant win 100%
quake or whatever fps..just kill respawn kill again and respawn..non stop action..without 5 months mining or whatever

but he is right non the less. When you look at the list of games he has played they are all more of the same. You exchange one boring grind after another. Eve is one big grind fest as well. All that matters is what the gamer will tolerate.
I will say this we the gaming public sure set out standards low with MMORPG's. A pay for service that is held to no standard of quality. Its like driving the same car but all you do is switch out the car makers name decal. So right now the current crop of mmo's are pretty stale and been there done that before copied from another game concepts over and over again. If you believe EVE is any different than you are truely naive. Play your game of choice but do not try to con people into believing something it is not.
There are a few upcoming games that seem to want to break away from this trend. But we will not know till they are released.

All of those corps are run by other real players that have their own stories behind them and their ties with other corps.
Quick history of ascn. (the allince I'm a member of)
After the fall of the Xetic allince (see XeticVsThe5) CLS and DDC form ASCN.
They take the regoin of fethabolis for them selves and after a bit of time are build sevral battle ships a day when most others are only building a few a week.
G/IRON are currenly firendly at this point in time with travle rights in ASCN space but that changes when they surprise attack ASCN in a bid for controll.
After weeks of fighting ASCN chases G/IRON out of the region and rebuild.
ASCN builds the first player owned star base in eve.
Then they built another, and another and... well ASCN have 14 of them now including the only research out post (as far as I know).
Then we decide to pay a visit to G/IRON in their own home. We kill them by the thousands and then finally with help from BoB and The 5. Compleatly lock down a major choke point and industral system call EC-PR8 for over 10 days. At the hight point we had over 1000 people in system working togeather.
In the end we distroy everthing in EC- and days later G/IRON disban.
BoB not having anything left to shoot at declare war on everything that moves or holds still. For the most part they leave us alone tho.
ASCN war decs Tribal Souls. They die faster than a frog in a blender.
ASCN now covers 3 regions and part of stain.
And thats the condensed verion about just one relativly new allince.
