Well.....

I left the game due to force grouping and the 10,000 other complaints, lol.  However, Im going back in with a positive, mental attitude (as the Catepillar from Veggie Tales "Jonah" says).

I'll be on Fairy server if anyone wanna look me up

Yikes, I guess that shows just how bad the other MMORPG's are.

I agree, apparently the MMORPG selection out there right now is pretty small image

I wish they would hurry up with better games (Like COH)

... or fix summoner.... That would make me go back!

You know I have to agree. There really should be more large companies producing MMO's out there. I don't believe that many companies at this point realize how much money a good MMO can make.

I believe the selection is pretty good but it seems that all the companies are making either fantasy or well fantasy. Don't get me wrong I love fantasy but only a few MMO's are not fantasy so to get more people join in an the mass multilple amounts of fun I think it would be nice for companies to make some other genres also.

This could be true.  I for one would go out and buy many MMORPGs just to try them out and see which ones I like the best and would eventually stick with.  But there lies the main problem.  People will soon find the game they love and stick with it for years.  I don't know the number of MMORPG players there are, I can imagine the numbers are growing these days, but if there are too many MMORPGs, soon the player base just won't be enough to play them and have a good, populated server.  Take Everquest, for example.  I wanted to play it again recenty.  I asked a few of my friends who haven't quit since the beginning to tell me about which servers have the most people and in what level range they are in , generally.  I was told by a few friends that the servers are populated by mostly high level players, and the classic Everquest servers are pretty much empty.  This was disappointing, because I really wanted to go back and explore the old lands of Norrath with my mid-level characters.

The point I am getting at is that there just aren't enough new players in Everquest because of all the other games out there to play.  It is not that Everquest is old and crappy, I happen to believe it is still among the best MMORPGs out there, but it suffers from all the competition, as all the others games do as well.

That is not to say that I don't want to see a lot of MMORPGs made (I mean quality ones).  The more we as gamers have to choose from, the better it is for us, and the more likely we will be able to find that game we will love and stick with.

How awesome was it back when EQ just came out and EVERYBODY was playing it.  It was really exciting.  I certainly hope it is that way with EQ2, but we all know that WoW will take a good portion of the  gamers (as I can see from these boards), Lineage II will take some, then there will be those who chose to stay in the games they are in now, and not even try any new ones because they are loving their game and do not want to switch yet.

So that is my thinking about the industry and where it is headed.  I do believe that the MMORPG industry is growing and will continue to grow.  Hopegully someday it will grow to be a common form of entertainment like watching tv, when that many people are playing, we won't have to worry about an empty gameworld.
