Today is a sad day for millions of people. I did not lose anyone, nor know of anyone that lost a loved one in the towers.
There are people who will say bad things about the USA. And that we deserved it.
The truth is, there where people from 87 countries in those towers...
334 firefighters and other Emergency service personel died trying to save lives.
So please no matter what your feelings are toward the current President, or if you agree with or dont agree with the current military ops the USA is currently doing.....REMEMBER those that just were doing their jobs five years ago.

For those innocent people who lost their lives 5 years ago, the innocent people who lost their lives in the 5 year long retaliation, and all those innocent people who will continue to loose their lives in the War on Terror.

Lets all work towards stopping this madness.
Jews , muslems , christians and others - Remember no belief, no country or politics is more important even than one single human life.
We are all victims of this madness , including the terrorists and the fanatics. On the end they are the ones to pay the biggest price.
It is just not worth it.
Understand the others and respect them
"Before this battle is over all the world will know that few...stood against many." - King Leonidas
I just hope that people start to move on, instead of dwelling endlessly on this. The melodramma gets to be a bit much. People die everyday, often from quite senseless acts of others. Get used to it, it is called life. This particular act has turned America and many Americans into a frightened, mean, and self-absorbed mass. More than the lives that happened to end on that particular day, we lost our sense of decency and proportion.
Today is a day to turn off your TV and radio, so you don't have to listen to the endless drivel that people like the OP will be spouting. Yes, the people that responded and died on that day were remarkably brave. But the people who died the day before, or the day after, doing the exact same thing deserve the same recognition. And after 5 years, enough is enough. When I hear about the widows fighting over how the names will be displayed on whatever memorial gets displayed, it makes me sick. Live your own life, while you still have it, instead of living vicariously through a dead relative...
Can I just say something about the 9/11 thing?
Ok. I will.
I think Americans are PROUD that this happend. Finnaly they can rub it into the worlds face that something tragic happend to there side of the planet
Now the holocaust and WW2 can just move over because the poor americans got hurt for a change....seems there hundreds are worth more then the millions that died in concentration camps.
Sorry no disrespect to the people that lost any family, but the way how america turns a tragidy into a world event and mourns and makes it into a marketing sceam selling pins, stickers, memorabilia items etc etc is just sickening. No the world better stand still on 9/11 for america.
Flame me all you want, hate me even. I am just saying what I feel.
Sorry, Hercmeck. It was a good thought and a noble gesture. But some people can't just give a nod of respect without having to throw commentary with it.
The inexcusable travesty of commenting, nay, even discussing something in a discussion forum, shall never be forgotten...
If you are naive enough to believe that reasonable people cannot disagree about this issue, then this is not the forum for you.
There was nothing to discuss. All he asked for was remembrance of the INNOCENTS lost in the attack. If people didn't think it was worth honoring his request for that, they could have just gone on by. And for the record, since his thread has been trashed already, I actually agreed with most of your response, Dentata. However, my only comment to Vanillacream is: next time theres a Battle of Norway, don't call America and she won't call you. Make sure to keep the Brits on speed dial.
*Yawn*
To all those who so bravely ran into hell to save others.
God bless
Which FF Character Are You?
I couldn't agree more.
We (Americans) always make movies about things that happens to us, even 5+ years after. I say don't forget, but MOVE THE **** ON!
It happened, it was horrible, deal with it.

I agree with moving on... I dont agree that people are proud of it.
Saying that you are proud of it is the wrong word of choice. But one thing is certain, the US uses 9/11 for all that it's worth.

Please do not group the whole of US citizens with a bunch of insensitive politicians who continue to use 9/11 for thier own personal agenda. Yes, these politicians were voted in, but, please remember, it does not take 100% to vote an official into office.
And, please remember, this is not the first major terrorist attack on American soil. There have been plenty.
