Problems with so called "builds"

whitebrowswhitebrows Member Posts: 11
It's a problem by itself. In order to get the best out of the game, you must know exactly how and when you "build" your characters during the game. Even one tiny screw up can cost you many, many hours of play and possibly result in starting the character over. This is my major turn off of these MMOs especially when it's the first time I play in it. Even more than grinding, this "build" concept need to be overhaul or changed. If this game is so heavily focus on "builds" because of PvP, then I for one am not so sure about just how different this game is compared to any others beside the fact that it has Wuxia authentic theme in it. My 2 cents.

And this game is in closed beta.

No one is giving out information, and tons of guides aren't being typed up. Once the game releases and the information starts flooding out, then you can think about your build by doing research beforehand. For now you're meant to play the game and test things out, report bugs, etc. You know, the things a beta tester is selected to do.

Where in my post did I said I was a Beta tester? And why would I have to do "research" to play a game? The way you put it seem like you think these MMOs are like virtual lives or something. It's game. It should be treated as such. I don't know about you but games are suppose to be fun, entertaining, and all around good times. This whole "builds", research BEFORE even started on a game sound something like...well....work O.o.

And your post seemed like a complaint about builds, which you are doing in a forum dedicated to a game in beta. Nobody knows what role builds will play in this game yet. And even those who have an idea can't say anything due to that NDA hanging over their heads.

So you may or may not have anything to worry about.

Building a character is customizing it. It defines how u play your character and the style of PvP u like. why would you complain abotu that or do you just need a no stats and teh skills are all teh same from 1 player to the next. Masterign a games on teh first try is too easy it bores alot of people with the higher IQ. Your post is telling me you are not a gamer(playign WoW doesnt make you a gamer) why come in here and bash a game u havent played yet and you have no idea how to play .please keep your non educated negative opinion too youself please!!!!  YOUr 2 cents is worth nothing

Everybody should forgive him for making such statement. As he said, it's the first time he play a MMOs that requires much thinking and planning. Poor whitebrows, you should be thankful that 9D is only build-orient. In old MMOs that are clones of Diablo, you have to consider which skills and stats you want to learn because of the limited points. However, it doesn't mean that such games are interesting because most people only pump up 1 stat/skill, which, as a resutl, makes everybody the same.
9D is a very unique game. It allows you to "buy" every skill, yet still let you be special with your builds. You can be either a super PvP machine or a grinding monster. In case you haven't known, you can reset your stats 2 times. The first time is after changing class and the second one is any time after changing class and before level 60. Unless you are really dumb, you will figure out how to build your characters properly before level 60.

when i played the viet version it was like this.

you wont have to worry about your early build because you can get a complete stat and mastery reset at lvl 25 when you choose a job in your clan.

there are numerous builds out there and almost anything can work for any class. it just depends on what you prefer. some people prefer a power house character that can beat anything 1 vs 1 but will lose in a fight against multiple enemies. others may prefer a tank that can fight a bunch of enemies at once. you can even make a melee mage if you felt like it.

Even though you might have played another version of the game, this version will still have some new stuff in them so dont be so sure about it this time and since no closed beta tester is allowed to give away any information so why try to get in and see the game for yourself and i think the game is pretty good and i didn't see any bugs except one in a quest

In order to do this, a permission of the original company will need to be obtained. The company's that brings these games out in english, are nothing more than money suppliers from other country's, the gain in this is the fact that they get a cut in the share. Thats why koreans are trying not only to pump these mmo's in their country but also in other country's. Though few company's do it for the good will of just having fun. Carpie Diem is a controversry same with Arch Lord, both in korea are completely free, one has a cash shop, the other does not even bother with a cash shop.

Well, I my self as a beta tester must say the game was quite unique, in sense of how you master and learn the skills, and that making a clan/guild does not costs 10s of millions of gold and stuff, personally I prefer this game and the build system is fucking awesome. its unique, and beleive me its awesome. also the only dissapointing thing is that the US version is delayed...again. for about the 4th time or so.
