Originally posted by daeandor Although I am bummed, I am glad I get an hour of my Friday nights back. I'd be willing to bet SG:A carries on it's current trend of popping in and out of SGC with appearances by some of our old SG1 friends. The question is, will we see SG1 movies roll out like Star Trek now?
It will be hard to do movies with SG1's cast. The reason being is that Stargate 2 and 3 with James Spader and Kurt Russel are due to start shooting soon from what i've read. Putting out those movies and Stargate movies with the cast of the TV would be too confusing. Maybe in 5 years you'll see an SG1 movie. I still believe SG1 will have a season 11 and i'll continue to believe that until the producers say.. "ok it's over!"
If I was a owner of stargate sg-1 I would move it to HBO. Then get rid of this lame story they turned the show into with the Ori. No offense anyone. I just think there is a huge dark side that cannot be shown on sci fi. Plus the show could mature in content and story line.

Please, it originally aired on Showtime, and the only thing "mature" about the show was the fact that the channel made them show nudity. I'd rather have five minutes more of story per episode than worthless, gratuitous titty shots any day.

The quote right now from Sci-Fi Channel is, "You will not see any new episodes of SG-1 on any channel". Basicly because of the contract they have/had with MGM or something. Either way, i highly doubt this is the end of SG-1. It'll likely continue through some form of media or another. Personaily i'm hoping MGM with get that clause out of the contract and put it on another channel for new episodes, but thats not likely. We're probably looking at more something more like a Firefly/Serenity kinda thing. Theres even talk of something like Webisodes (which i honestly think would be a sucky way to go about it). Big screen movies are kinda outta the question right now as a perviousposter said, Stargate 2 and 3 are about to go into production with the cast from the first movie (it'll be totaly disregarding everything that happened in SG-1 and Atlantis for those not in the know). The MOST likely senario I can foresee is a few made-for-tv movies or mini-series in the future with close tie-ins with Atlantis. Mark my words this; SG-1 may not be keeping the status-quo, but its not dead yet.
To the post regarding the Furlings: There is hope! My understanding is the last 3 episodes of season 10 have not been writen yet.
And to Sci-Fi channel: Shame on you for advratising next week as the season finalie, we all know that bogus as its the mid-season split. Episode 10 of this current season runs next friday and season 10 was ordered for 20 episodes. Thanks for trying to kill the show as many people seeing that will likely not tune in in January with the season continues.

Yeah i'm about done with the Sci-Fi channel. When they put wrestling on i had to questiona their loyalty to science fiction. Then they cancel the longest running sci-fi in american history while it's still one of the highest rated shows on the channel and are trying to prevent it from moving to another outlet. I think i'll just wait for shows to come out on DVD from now on.
You have to remember ABC now owns SciFi...none of the 3 major networks have been good to anything scifi. Like Invasion for instance. Good series..ended with a nice hook then they canceled it. With SciFi being in ABC's hands..there is no telling what they will do with that network.

I have to say though, the Goa'Uld were so much better than the Ori. Why couldn't we just get Origin to use the desperate System Lords to do his bidding and start reconquering the galaxy? Did they run out of Egyptian gods or something?
