Just on the border of your waking mind
    There lies another time
Where darkness and light are one,
And as you tread the halls of sanity,
You feel so glad to be unable to go beyond.
I have a message from another time...

This is not a typical asian mmorpg.
If you loved EQ, DAoC, WoW groupings, this game could be for you.
Team play is very nice, but not as complex as EQ, DAoC, WoW.

But there is no need for crowd control in this game, and there is no crowd control class.

I love this game as it reminds me of all the fun I have with EQ, DAoC, WoW.

(hope I didnt break any NDA with these)

I'm not going to say anything in here, because I'm too lazy.. But check out my review on this game in the hype section, it should be the latest one.

Wel you probably didnt', which kinda makes your post useless as it tells me nothing about the game :)
Have you played any other games bsides the EQ EQ2 and EQ3 ?

Also that NDA is a joke.  This game is already out in asia of course, so the cats out of the bag already. Their CB forums can be read by anyone.  Post away folks.

It's better be hated for who you are, than loved for who you aren't.

for one your sound racist, for second your so closed minded its sad, and thirdly all korean games are grind no content, if u think that makes a game you have some sad ideals. also rikamaru or whatever, yes they are all clones dont even try its really sad you are defending the obvious. this is a  english site yet you asians come here to bash our games and post the same clones over and over. you get the flames back in which you gave, so thats how life is and go to your own sites for your bashing needs

This game is terrible because it's just another generic grind.  After I reached 10 and changed my class to a dark magician it took me several hours to gain a level because there were no mana potions and mana took forever to regen by itself.  Maybe if I picked a melee class I would have leveled faster and had more fun, but a game should not be slower and more boring for a magic using class.

I doubt it. I played to level 4 as melee before I started to cry...the game almost drove me back to WoW for pete sake! If it's like all the other games similar to it, melee will have a huge down time too. Health pots won't drop enough and will cost too much to use in anything but PvP so fighters sit around all the time waiting for health to regen.

all games are about grinding, leveling up and so on...the problem is how do u do that-in a party or solo...i preffer the party system more so rappelz is on my taste; not saying its the best game out there, but its kinda cool to party with friends and at the same time gain some exp working as a team...i think all asian games are about party and community..but some are bad , some are good...rappelz is good and thats about it...it has that feeling of developing into a great community of players...but as i said,if u dont have 1-2 or more friends to play with, all asian f2p are boring...just as any other mmorpg out there...

What kind of question is that? Have'nt you herd of somthing called graphics? Not only that it's not like games are mimicking Lineage II.

point of note, yes they are.

check that link, the status windows and emote icons are EXACTLY the same as lineage 2, god how i hate that game.

this is, once again, anouther L2 clone, and probaly just as bad because the korean developers cannot learn how to make a good game.

I spent part of yesterday and today playing Rappelz and I'm just not seeing what people are saying is so good about it.  It's almost as if being free to play, not made by SOE, and/or not being WoW makes it the greatest game for some people.  Almost half the chat I saw was about how great the game was and all.  I couldn't even believe that some were even saying that it was better than EQ2 and/or WoW.  It's one thing to not like EQ2 or WoW, but saying Rappelz is better is ridiculous.

Things like limited character models (seeing 20 clones of yourself) does get old quick, but it's bearable.  Not having a WASD option is slightly annoying, but fine I can get used to point and click, not a problem.  The grind, I can deal with a decent grind.

I understand it's a port of an existing game, but I wish they would spend more time with the translations.  The website really sucks as there really isn't any information on how to play the game or what things are in the game.  All it shows on the website are pictures of the races, says nothing about their differences.  Thankfully there are forums in which people have been posting information as to what things are in the game.  If you were to jump into the game w/o reading the forums, you'll be just as lost.  Not that it takes a rocket scientist to figure it out, but there's a lot of things that could be better explained.  Not to mention some of the translation issues, misspelled words, weird labels (for buy/sell you click a button labeled "Decide" to complete the transaction), and some of the item and skill descriptions were lacking.

It's hard to pin it down to specifics, but there just seems to be this lack of refinement that I've come to expect from having played other games.  Games like AC2, EQ2 (with the revised starter island), and even WoW all had put a lot of effort into their starting areas and made it easy to pick up and get into the game.  I think Rappelz has some good things going for it, but it really isn't that friendly to new players.

As for the "Auto-Trap"... that just seems like one of those good intentions / bad implementation type of deals.

Bayonet, many games are without a complete website and and have inacurate translations at this stage of beta.

No, most games have websites, but usually it's the forums that provide much of the information ... it's left up to the players.

If this was a "new" game, then maybe my expectations would be less... but it's a translation of an existing game.  The information is already out there.
