Worth Playing Again?

Is it worth coming back to DAOC?

I havent played in a year or so, and I wonder what way its going to go with the recent take over of the company and the upcoming release of Warhammer online.

Is there much in the way of new content etc, that would make it worth playing again for a while until Warhammer is released?

Maybe it was due to low server population, but I tried it out for a few days, and I don't see what made it worth playing at all. I know most mmo's have a learning curve, and the fun really doesn't kick in until you understand the game better, but the fighting system wasn't very good, and overall the controls felt clunky. The graphics were subpar, but I can get over graphics if the game play is worth it. I didn't even come close to finishing up my free trial period. I wish I could understand how this is one of the highest ranked games on this site.

I do not know what content you are looking for or what "new" would be for you.  I will say that there is a huge amount of content.  There have been a lot of updates to the old world in terms of graphics, quests, and new zones.  There is a new expansion coming out that has the largest dungeon in any mmorpg to date in it.  It will be adding some new features that will change up the RvR play somewhat.  There is going to be a new unlockable class.

Ender I dont think you gave the game enough of a chance. The thing that i think was the best thing about DAOC was the Realm vrs Realm combat, and the group missions in the dugeons etc. If you only played for a few days I know you didnt get to the RvR levels or any of the decent dugeons.

I think Im just going to download the trial and give it a try to see how much of the game has changed. It will give me something to play while I wait for Warhammer.

DAoC almost has too much content, it's overwhelming for a new player hehe

And controls are awesome if you configure them to how you want them and don't use the defaults
