It's natural for people to promote the things they like. If you don't enjoy these threads then dont reply to them and quit bumping them to the top of the forum. Unfortunatly in most cases your flaming is cause for posting more of these types of I
WoW or I 
EvE threads. Just shut your pie holes and let the thread pass on by.
Due to this being a public forum your never going to see an end to these types of posts. The self appointed, holier than thou knuckle dragging, forum warrior mod types who just run around bashing every and every post they don't agree with are causing an ever increasing amount of these types of posts. Truth be told I've thought about posting a bunch of stuff like this just to get you going.
It's better be hated for who you are, than loved for who you aren't.
I enjoy Eve, reminds me of UO when it was just Felucca.
Eve has it's problems though, the powergamers really do control most of the good resources, in that the the big alliances pretty much control the profitable 0.0 space.
A good example of this was brought up just recently where the Red Alliance was exploiting the heck out of some pve complexes for phenominally huge gains in ISK.
Scams are considered part of the game and players take advantage of every possible loophole they can find.
Trust in Eve is almost nonexistant. That is a sad thing to my point of view.
The interface is kind of kludgy too, forcing you to use mouse menus, when a hot key would suffice better.
The increase in popularity has also introduced some major lag into the game lately. I am hoping they resolve that soon.
