As I understand, you will be able to exit from the star port stations and interact with npc's from a bar inside the station to pick up missions. Also at a later date landing on planets will be integrated into ED.

I ran it on a Asus P5N, 4gig with a NVidia 9600gt, if that's any help.

Broadwell chips will be 14nm in size, a significant reduction from the 22nm Haswell processors. But they wont be out until christmas
