Just remember that each patch usually requires a UI update for everything to work properly so make sure you get a UI that's updated for the latest patches.
That question can't really be answered because it's too situational....solo, group, camping keeps/towers. Also while one class might have the upper hand against most others one VS one there is always some class that has what's needed to beat them, s…
Just go find a custom UI on VN boards DAoC user interface forum, and place a "custom" folder in the UI folder with the files, then you just pick custom from the options menu.
Playing two hours a day it would take you quite some time to reach max level, unless you've got friends ready to powerlevel you.
The level capped battlegrounds are there to let people do PvP at lower levels though.
There are player housing zones, close to each realm's capital city.
DAoC is different to other games because of it's PvP system, or RvR rather. It's the only game that actually has an end game.
If you are playing on the US roleplaying cluster …
DAoC almost has too much content, it's overwhelming for a new player hehe
And controls are awesome if you configure them to how you want them and don't use the defaults

I don't agree that WoW graphics are better than DAoC. The textures are very flat and simple in WoW....game is made to work nicely on pretty crappy old computers. Level of detail is much higher in DAoC if played with full graphics. Animations are bet…
If you have a guild or just some friend (at least one) or are good at getting friends you can start out with DAoC. There are guilds accepting and helping out noobs, just need to ask around enough. Find the helpful players, ignore the jerks who stopp…
Well if playing midgard, thane is the only tank that definetely won't be bored during a siege since they have nukes.
Valkyries can rez and insta DD people a little bit.
For nukes I like runemaster personally, or eldritch in hibernia. Wizards are p…
Each client is the full game, so if you want more than one client installed it will take up a lot of space.
For example some people who don't have great computers have the Darkness Rising client for PvE (best graphics) but the Trials of Atlantis cl…
Need friends to get into the game.....a new players soloing with a trial account won't get far enough. You have to at least reach the lv20-24 battleground wearing at least "ok" gear to get a feel for what DAoC is.
How fast you level in DAoC depends on how you level. As a brand new player without friends, yeah it can take a while. For an oldtimer like me with lots of friends and access to tons of bots etc. it takes a day or two.
And WoW sucks, has no endgame
The people on the roleplaying servers (or cluster now) are, in general, more mature.
There are hardcore roleplayers, just need to find them since they're a community of their own.
Most people who play on the roleplaying servers do so because there…
Well, there is a lot of loot in DAoC that you can get to create the most high end template. On classic people run with more crafted gear than on the ToA servers, where a combination of hard to get loot, artifact items and crafted gear makes the best…
