You should hop into the beta of Dragon's Prophet. It won't be your new favorite MMO but it has some interesting combat and cool dragon mounts. Also, have you tried DCUO? That's a pretty fun game, and it's f2p. I'm in the same predicament, wait…

It really depends on the game. For example in WoW I played a Mage, in EQ2 I played a Necromancer, in Guild Wars 2 I played a thief, in TERA I played a Berserker. If I had to pick one....I'd go with the sneaky rogue-like classes.
