I think 2 million subs a couple weeks after launch is realistic, and depending on how long the content is drawn out and how the end game is, I can see them gaining quite a bit more than that as well. I see this as actual competition to WoW.

I doubt it'll be shutdown, they have said multiple times FFXI will continue to be supported after the launch of FFIV.
