I played it up until lvl 30 and then it just became this absolute insane grind and not the fun type of grind where you can look forward to item drops. Just killing the same mobs for hours.
Did they overhaul component buying so you can buy from anywhere and have it delivered to your storage on a station? No?
Then this just makes the game even more annoying to play. If a part breaks, you'll have to fly to some station an hour awa…

I'm not even talking about Ultima Online. But the actual Ultima CRPG series. These were landmark games in the history of PC Gaming, and yet it's been 25 years since we got the abomination that was Ultima IX.
I know Garr…

Right! .... hell I'm considering getting back into UO just because I'm tired of the current mmorpg all being crafting survival games without lore and actual npc cities etc
UO Badlands is crazy popular at the moment. More …
I'm a paradox fan and even I have to say this is their worst launch yet. The game just doesn't feel fun in any sense of the word.
One of the most fun things to do in a marketplace/economy simulator is to stockpile goods! Then wait for the r…
What was really amazing/surprising to me is knowing that their game was completely featureless (mining being the only gameplay loop) they decided to add FULL loot pvp, last minute (no joke, one of the last major updates was space station combat). I…

Yes folks, developers can learn.
"overhauled introduction and tutorial for new players, with safe, PvP-free planets TO START ON, guidance"
FTFY, so did …
Game is unplayable because they put the fucking tutorial right on the biggest planet where everyone is building stuff. So it's sluggish as hell to get through it. This update puts them on tiny moons so they won't be bombarded with lag as soon as t…
It's not really that it's too much grind...
There's a couple issues with wurm that make it not successful.
1. No end game. You grind and grind, and for what? To build a higher ql house that looks exactly the same as the house you made at n…
It doesn't matter whether DAOC and it's RVR or Wurm Online and it's eternal grind, the story is the same:
We. Don't. Have. The. Time. To. Make. It. Worthwhile.
Period.
That's why these are such niche games! We love the concepts, we know it…
Yeah but I feel like if someone took wurm or LIF and made it more modern with great graphics and made the gameplay elements FUN then it could be amazing... I guess the market is too niche?
Btw Wurm Online just launched a new server with faster …
I should probably mention why I don't like PVP in a sandbox game... Well because there's just too many ways for people to circumvent the pvp aspect and instead use the PVP freedom to troll you when you're not online and it can be very tedious to ma…
I'll keep it short and simple.
I haven't liked a game this much since Ultima Online. Don't listen to the naysayers, join me in the guild I'm in we're a bunch of nice guys and we can teach you how to play. Trust me it's addictive, I've put in 200+…
Honestly you guys need to support both games because there's only FOUR games of this genre out there. Xyson? (Shit game) Wurm Online, LiF, and that other game I can't remember the name of because it's been in development for years and is still - sh…
I used to play wurm back in the day and recently went back around Christmas time. A lot of the issues I had with it earlier are now gone, and if it wasn't for LIF being on sale for christmas I would still be playing it to this day.
When I left …
It's true that game right now is a shell of a game. I would even begin to say that's not a game at all, but a space flight simulator.
I'm surprised that one of the few gameplay options they added were to "stare at a blinding sun for a minute to e…
I'm actually of a different breed of gamer. I enjoy the thrill/rush of a brand new MMORPG. I buy them all pretty much and play them until i get bored. Nothing is more fun than doing the early rush to compete for top dog. At least, for me. Most …
