There are so few games that have core systems that attract me these days when I find one I give it a few months of daily play at the bare minimum because I really want it to work. I know there aren't many other options if it doesn't.

It seems clear that investors are reluctant to back games with a purely sub model. Playing the long game is not something that encourages investment.

LotRO community was much better before it went free to play imo. I watched it deteriorate and that was one of the reasons I left. I'ive gone back and played it a couple times since then. It's not the worst community but, it's not what it was imho…

If you dont want others to interfere with what you are doing in an mmorpg you have to be in a private instance. Personally, I embrace diversity and the unexpected that comes with an open world game.
