Early days of Asheron's Call playing on Darktide was the most fun I've ever had in gaming. Sadly, I'm sure it'll never be replicated.

Project: Gorgon is the only MMO I'm playing at the moment. Probably too indie/niche to be mainstream but the unique aspects of it have me enjoying it more than I have any other MMO with the exception of Asheron's Call.

Maybe it's just getting hyped because more people are discovering it and realizing how much fun it is. I remember reading about it a few years ago then rediscovered it after seeing it mentioned on reddit. Game is awesome.

Patch day in Asheron's Call was like Christmas every month. I looked forward to it even when I wasn't actively playing as much.

Everquest came out the same year as Asheron's Call, not years before. I think it was somewhere are 6 months or so.
