Let's see, I've been a gamer since my first console, the Atari 2600. Went through about every console up until Playstation 2 when I finally went PC only. I tried UO, but didn't really care for it, so I consider my first MMO EQ1, and split my time between that and Asheron's Call. My next, and longest MMO stint was Anarchy Online for 7 years, though I did try pretty much all of the main releases that weren't pvp focused. In every game that allowed it, I've always played the healer role.
I've also been a tabletop gamer/RPer for about 25yrs, starting around age 16 with cousins playing D&D, Gamma World, and really getting into it with the White Wolf storyteller system (OWoD) in games like Vampire the Masquerade through Aeon Trinity. Did some RP via old AOL/various chat rooms as well, mostly sci-fi theme.
RL stuff? I've been married since 1995, a coffee addict and cat lover. A horror/sci-fi fan, and an oldschool punk/metalhead. I also have 2 bratty kitties
I prefer to solo mmo's so I can game at my own (slower) pace, yet I also enjoy having other players around to roleplay or chat with. If an mmo had forced grouping as a feature, I simply would not buy it.
I prefer easy in MMO's and single player games. Most times I wont even purchase a single player game unless there are built in godmode cheats or a trainer is available. For MMO's, the more complex mechanics, fast paced, skill based it is, the less l…
I cheat in some single player games, but not MMO's. With BDO... the game is easy enough that I don't see the point. Unless it is for pvp which I don't touch anyway
I must be the most backwards person then. I had zero interest in SWG as it launched, and did not purchase the game until the NGE. Of course, by then it was indeed a ghost town. Still I think that had the game launched with that model, they would hav…
I don't have anything against gold buying, but I would not trust my credit card info to an unknown party. If the game itself offered it, then great. Currently, you have most of these bots because there is no official and allowed seller. You are payi…
I cheat in single player games, in fact, I do not buy a game these days without looking online for a godmode code first. I am not one who feels competitive or feels a need to 'challenge myself' to a game. I mostly want to see the story and ignore th…
I think one part of the issue, and one often overlooked, is that a good bulk of players are considerably older than when they began playing MMO's. They may not be so much 'antisocial' as they now have real world responsibilities and cannot sit for h…
