I'm going to sound naieve and maybe only a MMORPG blogmaster would really know, but just why after all these many years, haven't MMOs embodied at least two of these almost obvious demanded concepts mentioned here? Thanks for the input!
It's truly sad how the anonymity of the internet brings out the most immature and boorish and uncivil nature in people voicing criticisms and dislikes. MMO makers have my sympathy.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen has an offline option, but I don't know if you still need to be connected to the internet or not. You'd want to check that out. It has a very action mmo-ish feel to it.
I always liked that online…

Kingdoms of Amalur might be the perfect game for you if you want that MMORPG feeling in a single player game.

This was going to be my suggestion as well.
On Steam, you can get Amalur…

Dragon Age: Inquisition felt a lot like an MMO to me. Unlike Witcher 3 or Skyrim, which seem quite "sandbox" and open, the quest design in DA:I felt very MMO-like.
Triple appreciated that Iaxie!!
Very informative article! I'd also be interested in one about people who "harvest" high fidelity natural sounds and visuals and environmentals from plants to soils and animals, from common to very rare, for MMO backgrounds. (if only most voice actin…
I can't see why perm death can't be an easy update option in almost any MMO. Further events this account terminated. They sure know how to unjustly ban you that quick! I think perm death can be a refreshing update perk-up even for even older games.
Nice idea. I think a nice take-off of this here would be a kind of MMORPG.com "wandering guild" that weekly roams the web and plays assorted (free) MMOs from level 0 (to accommodate both pro and newbie in fun) that'd also create more of a comradery …
I don't go into the philosophical debate because even the oldest of games have at their core the jungle law of kill or be conquered and worldwide market demand saw MMO theme preference pretty much shook itself out a decafe or two ago. Pure intellect…
Thanks a trillion, MMORPG!! Unfortunately a bad head's up. Anyone who uses Razer's Cortex on any Trion games will be detected by Trion and banned! Yes, insane but true! What other game tripwires are out there??

Very good sincere suggestions, not like from clowns on other less sophisticated MMO sites! I'll be sure to try them and also drop these mentions on other boards to help assuage the poor-man gamer these days! Thanks all and good choices and if possib…
