I usually stick to PvE in MMOs, so I'm thinking of playing more PvP this year

Stardew Valley. I used to play a lot of Harvest Moon growing up, so it's nice playing something like that again. Makes me want to revisit the Rune Factory games.

I struggle to think of any zones I particularly disliked. However, I do remember a lot of people disliking Vash'jir from WoW Cataclysm back in the day. I think a lot of people really didn't like having to play underwater.

Villagers and Heroes Adventure Quest 3D Both of them have cross-progression between PC and mobile. Just make sure you play V&H on the standalone client and not via Steam, I think you can't hop between mobile and PC if you play it through Steam.
