I recently came back too and I'm enjoying AoC. Stability is vastly improved from release and Wiccana seems as lively as ever.

Pros: the PvP in this game is entertaining and well balanced. Cons: the PvP in this game was unblanaced. So which is it? It's stuff like this that makes me wonder if reviewers even play they games they review anymore.

Best time to start. Landroval and Brandywine are two of the higher population servers. Landroval is the unnoficial RP server. Any race that you can choose for minstral is fine. It comes down to which racial ability you like best.

Lag. I can play EQ2 on high without lag, this game lags like crap. Decent game though.

I downloaded it from Akklaim and Windows extractor didn't like it at all. I tried 7-Zip and it extracted just fine.

The combat is just like Twisted Metal. In fact I have my game pad set up in AA just like the "Run and Gun" setting in TM.

AA is great, such a nice change from swords and sorcery. AA = Twisted Metal + WoW/Diablo-esque skill system, set in a Mad Max type world. It's great!
