I personally prefer something where you horizontallly get more skills (but can slot only a certain amount like 10 skills) and vertically get (few) more slots and very low stat raise (something like 0.1% per level).
So the difference stays very low …
I had a very good time with Meridian and 250 people servers.
It also has the advantage that people know each other and your standing is important.
It also let's you feel more like a hero without 20people standing in line waiting for the open wor…

In general, it's a good idea to play a game before you post something negative/positive about it. You can't trust what you read on the internet.
"From what I heard" is not fact.
The game is free to try it.

I like some of the systems of Meridian.
One is (idk if it is still in) that you got hunt by a revenge angel if you ganked players below a certain HP threshold.
The other is the frenzies where the sky turns red and everyone can freely attack/kill e…

Games like Mortal Online or Gloria Victus do exist.
It's just that not going the "standard" route takes way more time and/or a release in an unperfect state.
And here it is just our own fault, because we demand a Ferrari, but want to pay a Volkswag…
I still don't get it why they waste like 60-70% of content for this.
Make the leveling short like 10% of the content then move on with horizontal progression.

- Faster combat- Faster spawn timers

All I read is the attention span nowadays is waaaaaaaaay shorter and everyone is spoiling themselves through videos, Tutorials, skill calculators and walkthroughs.
IMHO you can't re-create the old times as people play the game differently and e…
First love - M59Best PvP - GW1
Best traditionalMMO - Vanguard

Best immersion - Mortal 2
If I remember correctly Meridian 59 in Germany had a model were you paid 1 Mark per hour up to 20h and from then on it was free.
Was pretty fair could be done until 15€$£
