It's a major concern. Lag is one the biggest turnoffs for me. Plan to download the open beta and see how it goes. Hopefully they will have a queue for the servers or they will be jam packed and create even more lag.

Kickstarter is a publicity stunt more than anything. They immediately back themselves with a 100,000+ then hope people get on the hype train and donate more. Brad looks really bored in this video, hangover maybe?

I'm going to echo Ender and say Everquest was the funnest. They were dangerous and you usually spent a lot of time with the same players...sometimes forming friendships with them.

Gear progression is in the game and that is vertical progression. This has been stated by the Lead Game designer so not sure what you're talking about.
