RoS is really phenomenal. Most fun I've had in that genre in a long time. To be fair I liked D3 though and didnt have any overwhelming nostalgia for D2 like I did for warcraft 2 when 3 was released.
The Old Republic was around 300mil. Triple-A games constantly hit the 100mil mark nowadays. This is an extremely small budget for an MMO, or any game that is worked on by more than a few people for that matter.

Well the UI is pretty bland looking... but knowing Valve the gameplay will more than make up for it. I'm sure it will be worlds better than LoL and HoN (especially LoL ).

I was having fun with EQ2 Extended right from the start, but I was playing with a few friends which might be the difference. I enjoyed Guild Wars as well, and with GW2 coming out might not be a bad place to look.
