I say keep windows 8, i honestly like it but do still prefer 7 so am in dual boot. A lot of people also seem to feel that windows 8 loads things quicker for them, and in some cases i've felt that as well.
I had the same problem with a couple of apps in the release preview, they seem to work fine now and load much quicker. Go to the windows store and update all the apps, see if that fixes the problem.

The new iPad and nexus 7 are the only two tablets I would recommend, I own both and they are great although I prefer the iPad due to having more apps and a more refined experience but you a pay a good premium for that.
