I was born; I crawled on all fours. I grew up through childhood and adolescence; I learned how to stand on my own two feet and walk about. Someday I imagine I will grow old and have to be carted around in a wheelchair; but, oh...this must mean that the sphinx's riddle was quite wrong then, regarding modes of circumambulation and the daily circuit of the sun through the western sky. He never foresaw the existence of this new four-wheeled contraption that we have, years ago, standardized for the ease of elderly peregrination...and unhindered transport.
