im playing it along with tons of other people why noone uses this forums is weird though =/

    Because most people here don't see anything particularly inviting about a game you have to pump real life money into just to get anywhere?

    Naaahh.. thats not entirely true.

    You can perform the lowest level work (sweating) for a whyle, then trade about 2-3k bottles of sweat (30 - 40 hours of hard work) ang get arounf 10 peds for every 1000 bottles.

    I hardly recommend this method, because whyle sweating will get some skills and atributes. (Evasion, comabt reflexes, alertnes, by mentioning some important ones).

    With a 20 peds capital, you are ready to choose what will be your function in Entropia... But indeed you must be perseverant. I like this "reality" facts of the game... Always take a time of practice to start to get a decent succes rate.. so be prepared  for sweating at least one more time.

    And is true, is not a game, is a virtual universe, with a nearly real economics system. Worth to try, worth to "play".

    I havent tryed this game and I dont mind a game where you can use real money to get cool stuff, or play for free. I love the fact you can change out in real money, I have never seen this before. You can make money for playing? This im sure attracts alot of macros and farmers. But it adds a excitement to it other games dont have (if you dont cheat and use ebay). Im thinking about trying this one out.

    The game works like all other skill based games. Better Skill lvel, better result. So dont expect to make much money. May tke a whole year to get those levels high enoght to "live" from what you do. So sweating is a frequent task to perform in the game (or charging money to your account....). Anyway... it must considerated a investment (of time or money...) but that investement will give you results. Im getting results right now.   ;)

    There is one way to make money ingame with an initial 'fund' (either via deposit or sweating):

    Trading

    Besides a lot of time and knowledge of market prices, no other items are needed. You also are not depending on hunting or mining results, which are 'controled' by Mindark. It is your own inteligence, use of statistics and 'feeling' that will detemine if you are successfull.

    Only possible drawback: if mindark introduces a new gun type, your current stack of items might drop in market price. Like with the introduction of the opalo gun happend to the jester-I.

    And after some time you will have some regular buyers/sellers, and more money so you can have more stock...

    the only problem i had with this game is the graphics and game mechenics (aka moving, emotes, chat, combat).  the graphics are SO bad that its actually painful to play because of.  and the moving and combat are as frustrating as hell.  sweating takes like 2 or more minutes per mob barring you dont die trying, lol, and youre not guarenteed anything.  then you sell that for mere pennies.  takes forever to make any money.  i can only handle 1 or maybe 2 hrs max before i have to take a break.  painful as all get out, but i think that eventually it may be worth the trouble.  im hoping anyway.

    If you have problems with the graphics, could it be caused by your settings in the options of the login screen?  Actually I find the graphics quite nice, both the technical representation and the contents. The diversity and consistency is such that you really get the look and feel of walking on an alien planet. There are so many different plants, drawn with so much detail, that you probably never will see them all. I just wish the game had a higher resolution. 

    I agree that the game mechanics need a lot of getting used to. Some important functions are still missing, such as ingame mail or some means to find out who is on. However, since this game describes itself as more "commercial" than others, I expect MA to listen very closely to its clients' suggestions.

    Well, plenty of people play Entropia Universe.

    I personally love it, especially now that i can play it with my wife

    Real cash economy is the catch with this one... i like to play for free... and invest profits to my or wifes character .

    in order to make money , you need to do tons of research and have a lot of patience and have some real life money and have a creadit card and have a high internet speed like 10 mb bit per second and won't get annoy like aol  to get update every month .

    The truth is that Entropia, as a game, in the best case is mediocre. Has bad lag, Big bugs, mediocre graphics, and high system requirements. You CAN'T make money in this game. If is a way to make money, MindArk, will change the rules of the game, so it be no longer possible. Playing and paying for the play, is like buying a car with no seat, and the dealer will told you that it will call you to a service station and it will be added in a short time. You get the call after you get used to drive without seat, you go with the car in service, and when you take it, you see that is no seat still, but is a door missing. When you ask why, they will tell you that is a better car now, and you have to wait a little more for the seat. Then, again it will change the wheal, they will remove the windows, and it will charge you for adding a new dvd system on the car. And you have to pay for every inspection. And after a few trips to service, you realized that the car now is far worst then was initial purchase. You will want the money back, and they will say that you will get the initial money back, minus the cost of all the inspections, and you have to wait 60 days.
    If you have not understand that, is ok, this is how Entropia, you will never understand how this game is working, and you will never make profit. And Mindark care only for the players that will deposit like 100K$ in the game, for selling them property, that has a 0 value for the system, but has a value only for other players. They recently changed the skill system, at a way that is impossible to reach a certain level without spending 100K$ for that. If you want to spend 20K$ in a game without any guarantee to get back, the you are a millionaire and you are welcome to this game.
    But if you decide to play without depositing is a good game. For a free game is ok, but for a commercial game, is mediocre. The game play is absent, the game has no Quest, and if you have high skills, the you can gamble more money, and you will able to loose more money, until you will reach a level when you will have big skills and big equipment (after spending some millions of peds(10PED=1$) and a few years ) and you will make a profit, only that then Mindark will change the system, and you gone loose again.
    And the worst thing is that Mindark has no respect for the players, they respect only the players money.

    Most of the EU community uses entropiaforum.com which is dedicated soley to EU. If you are looking for the Entropian community, look there.



    As far as the graphics go, I think EU looks great. There might be a few that are better, but many many more that are worse! The scenery fits very well to the theme. I know some of you would like it better if there were more fairies, elves, wizards, trolls and unicorns in the game.



    ...and please, don't try to tell me that EU is the only game that suffers from lag and bugs! You are only kidding yourselves if you think that!



    I have played several other MMORPGs in the past, none of them appealed to me like EU does.

      Yes , I agree with you Goguta, you have right about this game. MindArk nerfed the game with every VU!  MindArk or MA , nerfed the skill gain, nerfed the mining , nerfed the weapon amplyfiers and will prety much continue to nerf items value in order to make ppl spend more money .  I have been playing this game for 16 months so i know what is like by now and i am talking from my experience. I have deposited so far 12 k US dollars hopping that with high skills i will brake even from hunting, not making profit just breaking even.  But in the last VU , MA  just nerfed the skill gain , again.  MA lure ppl into this game with FREE TO PLAY GAME , but believe me, in the end,  this will be the most expensive game you was ever playing.  The items inside this game have an insane prices, like a pair of bluejeans who cosy +60 US dollars or a pair or sunglases who cost +600 US dollars  or a medical kit  (Mod FAP)  who cost +20 k US dollars, now you figure aout if this is the game you wanna play . And if you read EF (www.entropiaforum.com) you will notice how many ppl selling out because sooner or later they realize they have been fulled by MA.  In the end I just wanna say that this is not a game for ppl who really work hard for their money, but if you are really rich irl then maybe this is the game for you.  By the way, I am dissapointed by this game and I am selling out.     you seems to be very content with this game, I hope you like the latest  skill gain nerfing  

    But I know you from the game and I know that you like to chat while ingame, more than actually hunting so yes this game is a nice or let's call it : "the most expensive chat room "

Just because in entropia forum you are not allowed to write what you think about this low quality game ?  Incase you didn't know , ppl , entropia forum is a comunist forum , there you are only allowed to post positive PR , positive experiences and so on. As soon some1 post what he really think about this low game , his thread wil be clossed by the moderators. Where is the freedom of expression?  Why shouldn't I be allowed to write my own thoughts and experience I have in this low casino game after more than  1 year of actively playing , skilling in all professions (except plastic surgery) and after spending many k US dollars , don't you think I have the right to talk about it?

    Entropiaforum is heavy moderated, I agree, but its made out a good reason at least. Because of the size of the forum, and the controvertial nature of the game it cover, it has become a popular target for ppl who enjoy trolling and pure sabotage. Its main purpose is also to cover entropia universe and entropia universe only, with help for new players, discussion about development etc. Its also owned by one individual who has continued to follow the path set by the former owner. To leave no room for childish discussions, name shaming, sabotage. The forum pretty much follow the EU Euala acctually. Of thoose reasons I respect the rules connected to entropiaforum but with that I dont say I like them all. Some of them is as I see it, unnecessary, even a bit silly. No need to mention wich ones since they are quite obvius once u encounter them.

    In order to avoid frustrating feelings over some of theese rules I prefer to visit other foruyms connected to EU/PE and there are many good ones. In some areas better as well.



    Here are a few of the ones I like to visit and I add a little commentary to each of them.

    The big one. Here u go if u want; a lot of reading, info about anything about EU, advertise stuff, communicate with other players offline through pm or chatt and to brag about ur accomplishments.

    Intresting place. U find intresting discussions here and people are not afraid to use rather blunt methods as response, even though very throught through awnswers is the usual. Its also the place for conspiracy theorys ;). Combined with a forum about SL. Intresting live chat here as well. Not for the sensetive ones.

     Reasons why no=one plays............

     

    1- Immense Lag / Rubberbanding

    2-Repetative gameplay - just a big casino - not a mmorpg

    3- Expensive for no little return

    4- Abysmal Customer Support / Relations

    5- Scammers tolerated by / unpunished by MA

    6- Constant changes in gameplay making it impossible to progress

    7- Crap Mob AI

    8- No skill involvement - just how much overpriced shit (equipment) you have

    9- Instant bans for little to no reason - (search EF for Alphageek) - (EF= Entropia Forum)

    10- To much PR Hype - no added content / gameplay

    11- Way better entertainment out there with better erm............... everything

    1- Real Cash economy......

    Hi Fredy ,

    You are right, I enjoy the social aspect of EU more than anything else, although I do hunt and mine on occassion. The skill nerfing does not affect me that much because I don't worry aboput my skill level, believe it or not. I think the reason I like EU so much is because I do know what MA want from me. I pay per month what any other MMORPG charges and leave it at that. I can enjoy EU without worrying about getting my money back or making a profit. I play for entertainment. Its all about how you play the game, and it is definately not for everyone.

    I was reading about EU/PE that this "is not a game" so I thought to myself I will deposit more than a casual game so I will have more fun . For a while I had more fun and the money I spent justified the deposits I did but from the moment PE (Project Entropia) changed into EU (Entropia Universe) was no longer fun for the money I deposited.

    I didn't join PE/EU to "find love" or "make frieds only" , I joined this game to have good time together with my irl friends I already had , so they told me about this "great game" . So now we all 4 sold out because EU now became : the most expensive chat room in the whole universe

    Actually Fredy, considering that it is free and that you don't have to pay to use the chat function, I would call it the...



    least expensive and best looking FREE chat room in the world.



    EU is only as expensive as you make it for yourself!



    The fact that you spent more than you wanted to does take anything away from the fact that EU is free to play. No matter how much you complain about the costs of items or the bad loot on hunting and mining, noone is forcing you to spend anything!



    I understand that you don't like EU, but that is no reason to think that other people can't enjoy EU as well as manage to play with very little deposits or none at all.

    I see your point and agree with you

    However all i am trying here it is to inform new ppl what they will find inside EU game , from a player perspective beside the agressive PR done by MindArk.

    Now picture this scenario:

    in the real world you would like to own an apartment with balcony and a nice view. You find it, finaly, the rent it is a little more expensive than other apartments without balcony and not so nice view like this one you just found. So you decide to buy it, invest money to renovate and decorate it  and after one year the land lord show up on you door to inform  you can no longer have this great view because he decided to build ,let's say , another block house. So all your nice view vanish, now all you will see from your balcony will be just a building . Now i have a question for you:

    Q. Is this the reason why you decided to move in this apartment, one year ago?

     To see a boring building and pay same high price like any other aparment without balcony with bioring view ?
