Hey, im new to MMORPG.com and new to guildwars.
I recently bought Guild Wars Factions, because my friends said not to buy Nightfall, don't know why, but i bought Factions. I bought the game, and it was really suprising, i thought it'd be alot of differnt, but it's better than i thought. I just have a few questions, if you all don't mind.
1.When i create a character, whats the easist(Mispelled i think....), to play for a newbie, i chose assassin, but i don't know crap!
2.Should i pick roleplaying, or PvP, i love Pvp, but i heard you can choose pvp if you chose roleplaying so i dunno...
3.Good Community Or Bad?
4.Should i have bought Nightfall :P.
5.Whats an easy route for newcomers!
Thanks!

Well i bought all three games and the best is factions to me. But nightfall and prophecies are also very good and you can enjot playing them. Nightfall as newly released has a lot of people in it now and you can have heros of your own.
You can pick pve and enter arenas to do pvp in any level. PvP characters cannot enter pve so you better create some pve character and develop that character and have also PvP characters as you have four slots
Community is good for me but i think it depends on people cause there are lots of people who can said the community is bad also. up to now (I've played approximately 300 hours) I do not come across with noobs and when I was newbie I took a lot of help
Well, my first character is ranger. But in factions i have assassin and it is also easy. That's all i can say:)
Have fun
Thanks for the awnsers, they helped me alot!

Assassin might not be the easiest but you should be fine (just remember you're better off going for soft targets and not trying to play tank )
Roleplaying characters can do both PvE and PvP, they can learn/buy skills from trainer in towns. Finding items with special mods will unlock said mods for your PvP characters.
PvP characters are restricted to PvP areas, and to unlock new skills and items you need to earn Faction with Balthazar (God of War in the GW lore) through combat, which you then turn in to a Priest of Balthazar.
I'd say take a Roleplaying character first till you get the hang of the game.
GW's community isn't better nor worse than other games IMO. There are rotten apples in every basket. However the beauty of instanced maps is that you aren't forced to withstand kids 24/7.
Nightfall has a smoother introduction to the game than Factions (which has the shortest storyline of all current chapters, however focuses on PvP) though it might suit you. Remember though that each chapter is a stand-alone game, however you can get other campaigns later if you wish, and tie them all to your account. All your Roleplaying characters will have the possibility to travel between continents.
I'm not really sure about what you mean with easy route for newcomers. I'll only give you a few tips:
- Do all the quests for secondary professions before choosing yours. It'll give you better insight about what combo might work best for you and it's also rather quick XP. Don't worry if you think your choice wasn't the best after all, you can change later on.
- Do not leave Shing Jea Island before you have done absolutely every single quest on it, especially those that give you 15 attribute points (there are 2 quests like this, after each one of the missions on Shing Jea)
- Once you get on the mainland, the first thing you should do is going to Kaineng Center. From the Marketplace, head north (Bukdek Byway) and follow the western border (with 7 henchmen). Leave quest givers alone for now. If you do it right, the only enemies you will find on your way are a bunch of Afflicted (mutated people with tumors all over, can't miss them). Once in Kaineng Center, find Imperial Agent Hanjo and take The Search for a Cure. He'll send you to a guy called Bujo who will want 3 Jade Brotherhood guild capes. Map travel back to the Marketplace, take the southern exit (Wajjun Bazaar), you will find 3 Jade Brotherhood knight nearby. Kill them, pick up the capes, go back to Kaineng, hand them in and take the follow-up (Seek Out Brother Tosai). From now on, half of the mobs in Wajjun Bazaar will be friendly as long as you have Seek Out Brother Tosai active. That will give you the freedom to complete a handful of quests in there in a short time.
- Most importantly: have fun!

2) I don't understand what you mean... you can start an RP character from scratch, level up to 20, equip it and PvP; or you can roll a PvP only character which is level 20 with max weapons and armor right away.
3) Same as every other MMORPG, PvP areas can be more harsh due to competition.
4) I have no idea why your friend would tell you not to buy Nightfall, it has plenty of good features O_O but I guess you'll get it if you end up liking GW.
5) Follow what the game tells you to do, don't rush, don't skip quests.
Alright, thanks, i chose Ranger, which im having alot of fun with!
Thanks for the awnsers!
