So after my Disciple got gimped to absolute crap and with no changes to revert it in sight I went on a spree of trying to figure what best fits my playstyle. I like the ability to be able to heal and I want to try a pure caster - inasmuch as other healers are decent here is what I observed:
- Shaman - everyone has one sounds like a fun class just a bit too much like a Druid in WoW and that games simply brings bad memories. The ability to buff, run and have pets is pretty coll though.
- Druid - horrid early lvls, nothing appealing in higher lvls - what do they excel in if anything ?
- Cleric - pretty much the niche powerhouse buff/heal/tank able to easily solo 4-dot same or higher lvl with no nerf in sight
- Blood Mage - I do not know about them other that I am a bit leary they remind me of Mentalist in DAOC and I am guessing they are very tough to solo with
- Disciple - GIMPED TO OBLIVION
I want to be able to do decent dmg and I cant stand being dependant on groups. I am perfectly OK to grind my way to 50 solo if I choose to. I like to group with my guildmates from time to time so hence the healer.
Any suggestions ?

I have a 70 druid in WoW and simply love the multiple forms and options for how to play (tank, DPS, travel, heal, etc.). I have not tried a Shaman in Vanguard yet. Any shaman out there who have played WoW--- are they really that similar to WoW druids?
My main is a 13 cleric and I find that I can not solo 4-dot mobs yet. However, I can take on one 3-dot mob at a time or two or three 2-dot mobs at once.

After reading around a bit I have come to the conclusion that the OP has no interest in what others think. Allmsot all of his posts have been complaints, and this post was just another way for him to rehash the same stuff he's been trying to convince people of since the begining of Feb.
He's upset that Sigil turned his Disciple tank into a healer, and if he really cared he wouldn't have posted a bunch of negetives or sarcastic comments about each class then ask wich of them would suit his play style.
I laugh at people who think that Disciples are gimped, FYI they were never made to be able to kill a 4 dot mob one level higher than them. They were incredibily unbalanced and needed to be toned down, they are HEALERS. Also, putting druid in the healer catagory tells me that you really don't know what you're talking about.
This is one of those "What's the new flavor of the month?" posts, pretty sad. You claim to group and hang out with your guildies and provide them with healing but you're more interested in the next FOTM. Disciples are excellent healers and provide moderate dmg abilities as well I fail to see why you require a class change.
Guy thought that his disciple was a tank, why wouldn't he think that because a druid has a heal that it makes them a healer. He also makes the claim that druids have no role if any whenthey are one of the highest single target dmg dealers in the game with a variety of crowd control and buffs.
I think it's pretty obvious, he has no idea what he's talking about.
The game is going to change a lot in the next few months, hopefully most of the changes will be for the good, but only the naive would believe that there won't be some bumps in the process. If those changes are going to upset you greatly; then this phase of the game may not be for you.
I do hope that the Devs don't fall into the same trap as the Devs did for SWG though. Don't try and make all the classes 100% balanced. It's perfectly fine if class x can kick class y's butt; because class z can kick class x's butt; and class y can kick class z's butt. See how it works? As long as no single class excels in every situation, and each class has a weakness or another class that they are weak against, then it's fine. Just make sure that each class does what it's role is supposed to do, and leave it at that.
Feh, I had prepared a nice explanation of VG druid for the OP, but it's quite evident from the other posts that I was repeating information already given.
I remember grouping with a disciple a couple of levels lower than my druid a few weeks back. I was amazed at what this guy was doing, in terms of mobs being taken on and the rapidity of going from one to the next. I actually became the healer in this party. The disciple was pulling 4-dot (to me) whites. I had to watch out for drawing aggro, because if I did so my health and damage could be exhausted before the mob would be, so I pretty much stuck to DoTs until each mob was well depleted. I got the impression that the disciple was not paying very close attention to my health, so I began to take care of myself. The disciple occasionally appeared to get into health trouble, so I started watching his bar as well, and healing him when I thought that a couple of effective hits could put him in the ground.
