In need of a fast paced mmo

I'm currently looking for something that is fast paced. Games like WoW are just to slow for me anymore. I need suggestions as to any games that are out or are coming out that are fast in nature and I'm not stuck going from npc to npc doing mundane quests. Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

So what is it that you mean by fast paced? As in you don't like questing? You want faster leveling?

Being a little more specific can help get you better responses.

I like questing just fine. I just don't like the quest that involve me picking up 30 berries from the trees that are on the island in the middle of the lake and bring them back. And fast leveling would be a plus. I'm just really burnt out on WoW which I've played from day 1. I just feel like I'm doing the same thing in each area. Leveling has just become a task and isn't fun.

Let me try and broaden what I'm looking for. I would like the game to have fast area progression. I really like to explore and like to level fast without grinding. Faster paced combat would be nice too.

    Here's what I'm currently playing:

    Auto Assault:
Fast-paced, lots of stuff blowing up everywhere. Get a car, put some guns on it, go kill stuff. Cons: Buggy and in need of work. Feels like a beta sometimes. Not very many players. Free Trial: secure.plaync.com/cgi-bin/free_trial.pl

City of Heroes/City of Villains: Fast-paced, lots of action.  Instanced missions are better than typical mundane quests. Cons: Can be repetitive, not good for long "hardcore" gaming sessions. secure.plaync.com/cgi-bin/free_trial.pl

Mythos: Fast-paced Diablo knockoff. Directly teleport to randomly-generated instanced dungeons, kill everything, and go back to town to sell your loot. Cons: Still in alpha, servers only up on weekends, might not be able to get in. www.mythos.com/

I'd give guildwars a shot; I think it's like 100$ u.s.d for all the games.  Isn't a bad deal considering you never have to pay a monthly fee, you level fast and the pvp is nice(not sure about the pve, haven't tried the expansions but the old pve was decent).  I used to play way back during the first guildwars (i am also sick of wow), i was more of a trader (used to spend my time in that place spamming items, had like 2million gold) but anyways it was fun and as soon as i get some spare cash think im going to pick up the trilogy.

OP: im also a fast pacced player in general, and i find Guild Wars a good game, there is speed it in with tactical stuff as well, (im talking about pvp here) it might take some time for u to get into the pvp becuase its pretty advanced with skills and stuff... gvg example, i dont say u wont pvp before 1 month because u can just make a pvp char right on, be at max lvl and pick all the best weapons and go fight ppl, but i mean before u really get to understand whats going on... and before ur going to play a decent gvg.

and a pve char isnt better in pvp, then a pvp char... a pvp char is all maxed out, but pve is good to learn the game slowly and to unlock some skills, be carefull tho with the pve so u wont get stuck there

anyway, if u find GuildWars to slow, then i would take a look at fury. its not out yet tho and its pvp only.... but that is some real speed.

Take a look at Fury.  In Alpha now, should have a beta out soon.  Kinda like Unreal Tournament in an MMO. It's PvP only though, don't know if that matters to you.

ok. im not sure if u mixed huxley up with fury or wth, but i dont see why ppl compare fury with FPS games..... for me its more like guildwars, but faster. its 3'rd person, and u dont got like a crosshair to do headshot with!

Fast paced?  Only one game is like this, Auto Assault.  You level quickly, you're always moving fast, destroying stuff and the missions are a bit different then most games.

I used to think WoW was really slow and then I played FFXI. After that WoW seems like it's on crack!

    Nike or Adidas?   Running shoes?

    The Olympics!

Yes, the Olympiad!   You need to run the gauntlet of the world stage in the Olympiad!

    LOL!!!!

I'm sorry, not be disrespectful, just thought it was kinda funny.  Fast-paced made me think of track and field events.  MMO's are by their nature slower than what I think you may be referring to.  However, RPG's and FPS' might be your cup of tea here.

I do hope you find wha you are looking for!

Fast paced PVP? Come to COV/COH. PVPing with SuperJump, SuperSpeed, Teleport or Fly is amazing fast. You're not stuck fighting on the ground. This will include fighting in the Air and rooftops. Get a free trial and check it out

I would have to say Auto Assualt for fast pace. Its got PvP also with arenas and the high level zone...great customization too.

The most  underrated MMo out IMO. Another poster called it buggy, not sure if he has really played it. Great game.

WoW is actually a fairly fast leveling game for how many levels are available.  However, if you're looking for a game where you can always move around quickly and do something, I would suggest Auto Assault.

On th RPG side, I would suggest the instant PVP option of Guild Wars.  You get all the joys of the GW PvP without the leveling :D

Why would I mention the bugs if I hadn't played it?  I don't want to go into detail, because I don't want to scare off potential players, but the game has enough frequently-occurring and obvious bugs for me to call it "buggy."  Most of the bugs are easy enough to overlook, and I still enjoy the game in spite of them (and sometimes because of them, when I'm hovering around town, or shooting at wrecked cars floating 30 feet off the ground), but they can be annoying (inability to pick up vehicle components until I to leave and re-enter town, being sent to contested instead of uncontested Ground Zero), and anybody who wants a highly-polished game isn't going to be pleased with Auto Assault. It's in rough shape, but until there's another post-apocalyptic vehicular combat action MMORPG, I'm going to keep playing it.

I would look into Age of Conan, doesn't come out untill late october, but you can sign up for the beta now on the main site.  It looks like it would fit your gaming style.
