SWG Servers Down

So, all servers are down for almost the whole week. Anyone know what's going on? Is it because of the new chapter update?

Yeah that message is a lie. I ignore it anyways and always just log in and let the real screen tell me it is down.

Ok first on the whole stable server thing. I direct your attention to such games as WoW, CoH, and L2 where the servers only drop once a week or when there is a patch. During CU, SWG was like that. They started out having to be restarted everyday. Then every other day. Then once a week. The NGE hit and it was every other day again. Hmmmmm. Among the most stable? They arent even the same ballpark as "most stable" servers.And the number one game today? I hope your just saying a personal opinion. Because if you truly believe that is a fact I want to see a reputable site that states clearly SWG is #1. Its #100 on this site. On IGN it isnt even in the top 200. Heck Gamespy wont even try to rate SWG:TCOA.
You love the game. Fine. I am enjoying it now also. But please stop reading from the SOE Book O' Propoganda.

I am not even going to get in on SWG being the most stable servers but I found the WoW servers being listed as more stable to be hilarious. They have had more server issues while I was playing than any other game ever. I know they did not have to have a daily restart and such but man did they crash and crash and crash.
I will admit they are more stable now but they still do have some issues.

Thats a very different issue. Not millions on to one server, maybe 100k (doubtful tho). Raise your hand if you played on Shattered Hand, launch sever (got new hardware WAY WAY after they put in alot more servers). I would think your orignal servers would be priority over the new very low pop servers. You couldn't have more then 3 guilds going into BRM with out crashing (not really, but you get the point, very bad).
Login server and the actual sever are different. Login, yes millions and millions but not the servers it self. Ahh the good ol days of of massive AQ lag so you can run from Huhu to Twin Emps lol. I'm sure that's long gone but still funny!
