Newegg is the best. and only use SLI as an uprading feature later on. Don't get 2 lower grade cards, get 1 high grade card.

I would suggest ibuypower.com for custom built PCs, but if you are looking to build a full custom I would suggest zipzoomfly.com and performance-pcs.com for any of your computer part needs.

Also, just buy a single X2900XT or 8800GTX, Crossfire and SLI are worthless now-a-days... Too much power!

    Where to buy?

    newegg

    ewiz

    mwave

    zipzoomfly

    What to buy?

Core 2 Duo or Quad core intel processor (choice depends on price and if you are overclocking or not)

965P, P35, or X38 based motherboard without crossfire (intel brand if you are not overclocking and do some research if you plan to overclock)

8800 series graphics card  (do not consider SLI or Crossfire)

Hitachi, Western Digital, or Seagate Sata 3gb/s hard drive  (do not consider raid 0)

2X1gb DDR2 800 memory (lots of quality memory for cheap prices right now)

Quality 80%+ efficiency power supply listed here at Jonnyguru

Dell LCD montior with a S-IPS display listed here at [H]forums

Computer case with 2 X120mm fans  (front and back)

it is easy to assemble parts.  Anyone that is smart enough to use a computer can assemble the parts and install windows.  It is easy just ask us if you have questions prior to install.
