Beserker or SK ?

CharisiCharisi Member Posts: 159

Hey all, I was just looking at getting some tips on class for EQ2. I haven't played in probably a year and a half at least, and I got that free until September offer a lot of you have gotten. I have two characters in their 20's, a shadowknight and beserker. I was looking for a class that solos very well, with little downtime. Should I stick with one of the above mentioned classes, or start something new? I'm kind of partial to SK, because they are just damned cool, but then again beserkers can duel wield which is nice. I don't know what is worth a crap in this game anymore. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Guess it kind of depends on what your looking for...you looking for solo only? SK's are nice for solo...Nice tanks but not quite as good of a group tank as a Berserker...but SK's have better solo potential and little downtime when soloing if you pick up the reaver AA. My main character is a SK...but I also have a Berserker that I retired about 4 months ago.

I'm guessing you don't have any expansions to add AA's to your character since you been gone for a year and a half....but they literally change the game and how effective your character is. You can play the game without AA's...but it's so much better with them.

Well this offer is supposed to be all the adv. packs + expansions too. I won't know until I actually get in the game, heh. I'l probably spend most of my time soloing or duoing with a friend. Knowing him he will probably roll a caster, so SK might be a bit better for tanking purposes.  But again, I dunno, since I've been gone so long.

Well...if it's all expansions then I suggest you start from scratch. You start gaining AA's at level 10 for the first time you explore a discovery spot, the first time you kill a named mob and for each green con quest you complete. The AA's add up pretty fast.

You can just keep going from one of your level 20's if you wish...you will catch up on AA's over time. But it's pretty easy to normally get 10 to 15 AA by the time you hit level 20.

I was kind of thinking of re-rolling my SK since my friend would be starting out for the first time. Would be kind of nice to re-familiarize myself with the class since it has been so long. Thanks for all the advice!

Neriak is a new city released not that long ago...it's a starting area for evil races. It's definately a nice starting zone. TONS of quests in Darklight woods that will get you to around level 20 before you need to move on to another zone.

Well since I am playing these days SK a lot I can say it's a very good class both solo and party.

I particulary liked the fact that with the AA's you can make a lot of your abilities to add health to you which makes you very effective at all times. In general they have good potential so far and you can see it each time you add a good 2h sword.

Other than that it's the standard plate tank with some damage dealing capabilities.

A friend is not him who provides support during your failures.A friend is the one that cheers you during your successes.
