Errr - std launcher: 100 h patch time; beta Station Launcher: 2h !

This is rather odd, imho:

Using the standard EQ2 launcher, after log on, i get patch times up to 100 h ("as usual" with a lot of content and my slow ADSL).

But: using the beta Station Launcher, it was only 2 hours of patching! Is there a different server involved??? You would think the patches have same origin. Didn't check my router log though (can't be bothered somehow, it's just a SOE thing?)

standard launchpad allways had a problem estimating download times especially when a lot small files were involved. so the time still might get lower than 100 hours if you patch a bit with it, and on past releases there were alsos ome reports of people that ahd reallly long patch times that canceling download and restarting helped to get a betetr connection (so this might be true still).

My best guess would be it is on there end, becuase so much bandwith is being used at the same time. I am sure they used different servers for beta but I doubt they were faster just a whole lot less people with access to them.

I have 4 hours left btw well that is what is says

The odd thing is, that it finished patching, I could launch the game, create a new char (guess which race :D) but then the game crashed and suggested I do a full scan....

So now I went back to the standard launcher and - it is continuing to patch.... estimated time "only" 5 hours.

Sigh - why can't we have a e.g. a torrent download from somewhere for these kinds of patches.

Is anyone else getting a script error after entering password & in between the bit where it's looking for updates?

I've downloaded ROK but after i log in i get a script error with address http:\everquest2  can't remeber rest?  I'm guessing these are linked to EQ2 website?  The game rines fine btw just developed an annoying script error

    Cheers

Bought the box. Got home about 7pm eastern.

Decided to do a clean install, ie. a complete re-install of the game since it was all in one package. Game installed easily and cleanly and began to patch itself. Estimated time: @2.5 hours.

By 9pm I was up and running the new content.

    Bedtime was @5am.

    Ouch.

I too got a script error in the launchpad, but just ignoring it (clicking yes) did not effect the game. I suspect that it will disappear in a few days as Sony works out the kinks.

That's the only downside to a new expansion pretty much like you i got carried away & before i knew it it was gone 3am and i had to be at work at 7am this morning.

That's good at least i know know it's not my computer regarding the script error
