Runescape's Battle to stop Gold Sellers.

Today, Runescape had a major update with combating gold sellers.
Heres little bits of the updates.
(For a trade to be 'balanced', the total value of the items being given must be within 3,000gp of the items being received. For example you WOULD be allowed to trade an item worth 15,000gp for an item worth 17,000gp (because the DIFFERENCE is less than 3,000gp). You will be limited to a 3,000gp gain or loss every 15 minutes.)

(When you die, (unless in the Bounty Hunter area - more on this later), you will leave a temporary gravestone behind. While the gravestone remains, your dropped items will not despawn, giving you a bit of time to run back and collect them. Other players will not be able to see or take items from your gravestone.
Your friends can make your gravestone remain for longer, either by repairing it when it starts to crumble or by expending Prayer points to bless it. Your stone can be maintained this way for up to a maximum of an hour. This will give you more time to return and pick up from where you left off.)

They have changed the game drastically in order to stop Real World Trading.
But they have also harmed the game. PvP is now extremely limited. Before people would fight people appropiate to there level. Now you randomly fight someone who is a higher level than you or a lower level than you, In a confined area.
This chance has also crippled those who wish to be kind and give stuff to a new player or a friend who needed a item or two. Now you can only trade in the range of 3000 gold to someone. So if my friend wanted a High priced shield, For me to give it to them they would have to trade equal value in order to recieve it.
To me, They are the first game I have seen to go so far to stop Gold Seller's, Which is good but they have also hurt atleast 30% of the players, Like myself who's only way of making money is PvP. And who like to be helpful and give items to new players.

Regarding the gold sellers,unless im mistaken.Cant you just go to duel arena,stake however much your seling and just lose?
They changed Dueling last month. You can now only stake 3000gold every 15 minutes. They have introuduced a "Tournament Room" where basicly. You are put up against random people. And winner gets a large sum of money. High levels dominate this area.

So basicly..Jagex ruined dueling and the wilderness(again)?
Yup, Wilderness is a minigame now. Trading is ruined. The whole fear in the game is ruined. Played can die and not lose anything. I hated losing things but deep down It gave me a chance to play more to earn them back. And I had fun trying to earn them back (Pking/Dueling). Now only way to make money is to sit at a tree and chop away. Since you cant merchant now. Prices are set by them.

Wow... well I haven't played this game in quite a LONG time but it sounds like they ruined one of the 'features' I loved about the game, which was the risk of losing all your stuff when you died. Also, that limit on trading is absolutely ridiculous... Not worth implementing that if it is going to be such a hassle to trade.
i've got 122 in rs and its getting to the point where you just cant be mad at jagex , its just funny. im so done with rs2 and going potbs.

Once again, RMT paranoia and fear-mongering applies the brutal nerf-stick in an utterly worthless and damaging way.
When are all of you going to come to grips with the fact that you can't stop it? It's human nature...the exchange of commodities: time and money.
The greatness of runescape! Oh yea .. they took all that away.. what is left after they have taken away pking, staking, and generosity? Well lets just see what you have to look forward to... You can grind away years of your life skilling on runescape to buy yourself one of those poorly drawn pixel crowns! Woot! Then your pixel doll can be all hawt like princess barbie and be admired by the 9 yr olds that are now the only ones left playing after the massive "walk out on ruinedscape" that went on today. Then after you show off your impressive doll, you can have the time of your life and pleasant conversation with computer animated non playable characters while questing... ok all that grinding and computer conversations starting to bore you? Well lets see what else you can do, Go gear up and go out to the great new bounty game, but as soon as you get there you are skulled and your computer preselected opponent teleports next to you .. oh wait it is your friend .. you don't want to kill them, wait you see that other guy that was yelling profanity at you earlier and you and your friend want to go kill them, but wait the computer picks who you get to fight, so you can't. So what to do now? you ask your friend.. they say," I dunno this is bunk lets leave.." Well that worked out so well. Basically what is left on runescape? Alot if you are a person with no real friends, that doesn;t like to talk to people and is happy grinding away at skills for years, and is too scared to fight real players. You can skill away and report anyone who speaks.. how dare they enjoy themselves in your presence? Their existing in the same computer pixelated area is offensive so lets get them banned for telling a joke. That way you can be alone in your lovely silence in your lovely computer pixelized world listening to the beautiful sounds of your pixel axe hitting your pixel tree. Besides your hand will be there for you till the end. Ok I might have been ranting a lil bit .. But from what i have seen over the last few months... runescape has taken this witch hunt too far , instead of the easy way that all sites get rid of annoying people, runescape does a lot more work ruining the game. If they just implemented the 3 strike rule on ip addresses. Tag the ip addresses of offending players. If the same IP addy is caught scamming, HacKing, botting or rw item trading , then ban the ip address, like any website administrator can do, and is doing everywhere else. Runescape refuses to ban ip addresses, though that is the easiest way to stop it. Yes offenders may have more than one ip address, but they keep up the behavior they will run out eventually. Thus weeding out the offending players. Instead of taking the only fun things to do in the game away, they should do a better job at investigating it. Even with everything they have done against rw item traders, it has no affect on the punk kid hacking accounts with programs and malicously drops all their items thinking it is funny. Jagex doesn't need to worry about rw item traders anymore, because the value of runescape gold will be gone after everyone leaves. Why would anyone pay $ for a game that no one wants to play anymore? way to go jagex! No i don't like rw item traders, but honestly , i don;t think they have any affect on me. I could care less if a kid bought his whip on ebay, why would I care? I don't care what other people are doing , I care what I am doing. Oh yea all I do is help my friends, I make weapons with their ores and pots with their herbs and craft their hides while they are at work, school, or sleeping. But oh yea .. I can't do that anymore. Well I like to pk, that is great having a clan try to jump me then kill them all and drop their stuff in edge for the noobs to go crazy trying to pick up... oh wait I can't do that either. hmmm what can i do? I guess nothing I considered fun anymore, well all my friends have quit now, seeing them all work to 120+ combats and then get so disgusted with jagex's customer service that they don't even care about the time spent on their accounts anymore. I guess I can just leave to... bye jagex.
You still lose stuff if you die in Bounty Hunter. It's listed as a "dangerous" minigame.

The notion that graphics, or anything else for that matter, are anywhere near as important as gameplay/fun is so utterly ridiculous that anyone who shares such a view should be placed in an asylum.

Im really pissed. I played runescape for PvP, I was allways poor. It felt good when I got one kill. The strugle of I can lose that item if I go in. Im not a hardcore person. So it was survival for me.
Im really ticked off.

Yup yup you're all going mad about this, but if this wasnt done by a year or two it would be ruined anyway with all the macroing and cheating. They like to think ahead. There is probably gonna be a decline in members, but it will get back up eventually with the help of summoning and other updates. They are also i heard focusing more on there new mmorpg, mechscape.

Unstable developers = community got owned.
I am not talking about isp ip addys I am talking about hard drive ip addy.. you have 2 when you go online.
it would be so simple all jagex would have to do to get hd ip addy is install a control that detects it... then they get hd ip, basically if you block the hd id control then you can't play runescape. Then they would have the computer ip not the isp ip when you logged in order to play after you got an ip bad you would have to buy a new hard drive and make a new account. which would cost more than they make of runescape gold.. thus getting rid of the gold farmers on runescape. According to the jagex mod I spoke with they refuse to do this. That is why I said what I said. yes i did read what they posted in the development diary.. but that was not what I was addresseing. People use routers banning isp ip addreses would not be affective since they get new ones everytime they turn it on.

Yea, you can still loose stuff... if you're stoopid enough to go in Bounty Hunter to let a rogue clan wipe you out. Personally, I have yet to find a practical purpose to go in Bounty Hunter, but could easily list a half dozen reasons to go into the wilderness.
