I was looking at the MxO page, they made the "Update Your Online Review" the "post of the week." I guess I misunderstood how deparate they are to change the overall view of SWG. Wow...
Played (more than a month): SWG, Second Life, Tabula Rasa, Lineage 2, Everquest 2, EvE, MxO, Ryzom.
Tried: WoW, Shadowbane, Anarchy Online, Everquest, WWII Online, Planetside

Seems like it backfired as the rating have dropped 0.1 point the last week.
Here is a sample of some forum topics from the first few pages of the gameplay forum:

Why dont we (players) launch our own COME BACK TO SWG campaign??
Bringing Vet's back to SWG. Do we need a poll on this? yea or nay?
Is there any solution to getting SWG highly populated again?
The Solution to bringing the Galaxies population back to almost what it used to be...
Yeah the NGE was a brilliant idea...
In the thread "The Solution to bringing the Galaxies population back to almost where it used to be" is filled with wishful thinking and a studious avoidance of the real problem, which is of course the NGE.
They can't acknowledge the 800 pound gorilla in the middle of the room.
CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

This represents the current development plan.
And I am starting to love you like a son! Good use of the clicky. My favorite was the guy who said it wasn't because of the NGE, but because they hadn't developed an expansion. Like, having a box a EB games or Best Buy would somehow make this game "work" with the masses. Oh, that's right, we were once the masses. They bleeped us? I am glad, in a way to see a few constructive posts out there from current players who like the game, and want to see it resurrected. I have nothing against them. I wouldn't want t be addicted to a game playing on a dead server either. The problem is, any new, educated player is not going to role a toon on a dead server, or they might and will research to see where people are playing. The dead servers are going to remain dead. Bria, and Chimeara will probably be active until they hit the button. If they don't research, chances are they will quit before their trial is up.
Oh Yeah, for those of you who did return for the 15-21 day trial, how did you like the way SOE imposed a chat time limit? Let me get this right, you come back to see old friends, who are still playing the game, and while they are trying to explain the changes, and telling you how good it is, SOE (Caps alert) DISABLES YOUR ABILITY TO RESPOND OR ASK QUESTIONS. YOU HAVE TO SUBSCRIBE JUST TO BE ABLE TO CHAT, AND THAT IS WHEN YOU FINALLY BECOME INTERESTED!!!

1,000% moronic. SOE excels at brilliant thinking like that.
This particular restriction is as annoying as all hell, and it was imposed because gold farming outfits were spamming in spatial, and of course this being SOE the punish everyone for the sins of a few method is used, restricting players using any chat but group or /tells beyond a certain number of keystrokes over a certain period of time.
So, they've built in a disincentive for vets to come back with their own "check out SWG today!" promotions.
Not very bright, when they could solve the problem with active GMs nuking the offending accounts which invariably are pretty much restricted to Mos Eisley that, through the brilliance of the NGE, is one of the few populated places where spatial spam has a chance to pay off.
But paying active GMs would cut into profits, and the Smedley hookers and booze slush fund, and we can't have that.
Supposedly this problem has been reduced with the Warden program, which empowers select players with the ability to silence the spammers, but the restrictions on trial accounts still apply.
